cranberry juice. LOTS of cranberry juice!....and water. there is also some OTC stuff called AZO. that stuff is good. Also, there are many different types of medicines for UTI. Bactrim is one of them. I cannot take bactrim because it does nothing for me. Try not to take bubble baths. And don't drink soda. LOTS AND LOTS AND LOTS OF CRANBERRY JUICE. It can't be the Cran-Apple, Cran-Grape....It has to be straight cranberry juice. And drink lots of water too. I mean like constantly through out the day, so you have to go pee every 5 minutes. It will flush your system. Also, yeast infections cause bad UTI too. Go to the gynecologist if you get a chance. If you don't have one, Planned Parenthood does these type of checkups, and will give you the yeast cream. They do charge, but it isn't much at all. Also, I work at Dollar General and I we sell vitamins. Cranberry is one of the vitamins we sell. I just got me some a few days ago and I haven't had any pain during urination at all. You should look into it. It will help with a lot of relief.

I worked in a Urology office for a very long time and when patients suspected they had a UTI and we couldn't work them in right away with a physician, we recommended that they go purchase AZO and start drinking cranberry juice right away. If you tend to get them alot, you may want to drink cranberry juice everyday, at least once glass, and you can mix it halfway with water. You can purchase the AZO over the counter at any pharmacy. The old meds you have are no good now and the trick with a UTI is that if you are prescribed antibiotics, you MUST take every last pill, even if you feel better, or you will get another UTI. I hope this helps.

i just did call the health direct line, ive had it on off for few weeks but not this bad and only came on like this around 6 hours ago, i know you have to take every last one but the ones i had i used to try and save because i knew id keep getting them and have to make another appointment. they gave me a repeat script years ago but dont have it anymore and before i had my daughter i used to be on one anti biotic a day for prevention.

i do try to deal with it myself and only go to a doc when necessary but they health direct just suggested some pain killers im sure i can get in somewhere tomoro morning anyhow thanks for all the advice i need to get some cranberry juice again i think

I would say cranberry juice and lots of water, I agree with previous responses. (I work as a nurse). I also recommend the following to prevent UTIs:
hydrate frequently- water 6-8 glasses a day ( i only can drink about 3-4 of those 16 oz bottles)
wash (down there with soap and water) after sexual intercourse
Don't hold your pee for a very long time. If you have to go, try to make it to the bathroom as soon as possible.

I dont take too much noticeof best before dates as long as the seals are still in tact. One of the best things for moving a UTI is cranberry juice. Buy yourself a couple of big bottles and go for gold! If you are getting UTIs all the time I would be using cranberry juice for them unless it gets too painful so that my body wouldnt start to become immune to the antibiotics - save the antibiotics for the bad cases.

If your not sure call the healthcare line - not sure of the number but you could google it I'm sure and save a trip to the doc
