How to go from pullups to underwear?

Hi everyone,

My son has been doing really well with potty trainning. I haven't had to clean a #2 in months. However, we are still having problems with pee. If he is naked he never has a mistake but once i put the pull-up on he fills it up. He still lets me know at times that he needs to go, but not everytime. We tried underwear, but he just spreads he legs apart and goes on the floor. Any ideas would be greatly appretiated. He is 2 1/2 and very active.

Thanks I'll try that. he does love spiderman and he understands what wet is, so it might work.

What worked for my son was...I gave him money so he could pay for them himself. It made him feel like he made the decision to wear them when he was ready and was excited about putting them on. Also because they were the ones he really liked with his favorite character on them I told him " Spiderman" doesn't like to be wet so we have to make sure we pee pee in the potty so he doesn't get wet and that seemed to work really well for me with all three of my kids. I hope this helps.

I pees like me sitting down. I guess its because he has watch me pee many times. His dad is very private in the bathroom, so I doubt that will be an option for us. Thank you so much for taking the time to reply.

Is dad around? Our son had a hard time learning too, it was very frustrating. What got him going pee though was never sitting him on the potty. He learned standing up just like dad. My hubby though was ok with taking him with him to go and showing him how to though. Then he'd stand back and get our boy to copy what he had just done. Some guys aren't comfortable with it though. lol
