my daughter is 12, she has a acne problem for a year now..she was on 3 cources of antibiodics (clyndamycin) the dabber kind. nothing worked ..she uses oxy but it still is not going away..any suggestions would be helpfull it really bugs her...she is always washing her face so hyigene is not a problem ..she also has acne on the top of her chest.

hi we have the sane problem i also tried any products just to treat pimples but its still there.so i research in the internet.i found that garlic is good every morning ii give her a glass of warm water with 3 gloves of garlic crushed it and let it cool then drink. it will llessen the pimples

i'm 12 years old i have acne other 2 years now i've tried proactive for one month it did'nt work i also tried nutragena that did'nt work is there something that works for black pre teen girls

Whooops....I just realized how old this thread is. But maybe it will be good for others having this problem. But I was told a by a dermatologist never to use scrubs. They actually open up your pores wider, letting more dirt and in and causing more pimples and blackheads in the long run. It really rips your pores open. If you need to exfoliate, best to use a gentle wash cloth on your face, and don't scrub.

You need to go to a good brand of product like proactive. Oxy and nozema, sea breeze, all that is crap. I know a tea tree oil product that works fantastic. It is a little pricy but OMG it is awesome. My husband many years back had horrible acne, and I cleared it up with this when nothing else worked....ever..... I will provide a link BRB.

Im Trying These Pore Pads That Open My Pores But I Dont See A Diffrence And My Friend Told Me Before I Put On Foundation To Wash My Face With Warm Water Then Put Cold Water On To Close The Pores.. Does That Help ?

Im 12 years old and i have it on my chest to it iches and it wont go away, I have i around my nose and above and under my lip. i have it on my chin and on mthe side of my eye. my mom points it out but that dosnt help with my confidence, i know its there you dont have to remind me. i just dont like looking in the mirror in the morning and see acne ! i just need some advice please help me.

She may be washing too much.Acne is an inflammatory condition caused by hormones that cause the oil glands to produce excess oil which then clogs pores. Too vigorous scrubbing increases the inflammation. Have her wash with a mild, fragrance free soap for sensitive skin. She may need to do an oral antibiotic like doxicyclin and use a different combination of topicals such as retin A, duac cream, benzaclin or benzamycin. All of these are by prescription. I would take her to a dermatologist. Also acne doesn't go away over night. It takes a good 2 months on a regimen to start to see improvement and 6 months before her skin is really clear. Sometimes when you start a regimen it appears as if acne is getting worse. This is because there are the pimples that you see on the surface and then there are those that are already forming beneath the surface. Acne regimens exfoliate the skin so those developing underneath start to appear, so don't give up on a regimen too soon.

Try Beta Carotene. It is as effective as Vitamin A, but is not fat soluble so you can take it daily. I had problems with acne as soon as I hit puberty and nothing worked at all for me until I started taking Beta Carotene daily. I took one a day every day until I was out of high school and never had a problem with acne again. The nice thing is it is pretty cheap (you find it in the vitamin section in your drugstore) and since you only need one a day one bottle lasts a long time.

It is not about washing - acne is an infection, which is why antibiodics sometimes help. Too much washing can make it worse.
Diet plays a big role for some. Processed foods, sugars, dyes, dairy .... maybe play around with that
It takes 6 week, a doc told me, from when the infection first starts to form under the skin until you get a brake out. So, if you try something new, you might not see a difference for more then 6 weeks

yes we have tried proactive it was very costly and did not work,,i was just reading other peoples posts on here i am going to try the acne bar soap and the lemon...something has got to work
