my daughter did it too. I know everyone says keep them up but sometimes you forget or someone else does. It happens. She won't get sick from it. My daughter is 2 and she will still grab one soon as she sees them. I've caught her going through the diaper bag for them. I guess they taste really good.. Either way if she gets to them here and there don't worry.

I agree that baby wipes are potentially harmfus if babies ingest the ingredients. My 1 YO was became violently ill after sucking on a baby wipe. Severe vomiting, watery stools, loss of appetite. He could barely keep a sip of pedialyte down for HOURS and is gradually getting better on day 2. Think twice about letting your child suck/chew on a wipe. And I know how hard it is to keep them out of reach. This inciedent has made me think about even using wipes anymore. Something in the wipes irritated his stomach really bad.

I personally only have baby wipes for emergencies when we are out because there are chemicals in the baby wipes and i personally find them a little harsh on baby skin (they do however work great to get fly poo stains off the washing). At home I use a water solution on cotton wool and like the other mums suggest i have a small flannel on the changing table to occupy my little man whilst i change him

Most wipes contain preservatives that can be harmful. Some even contain Quaternium-15 which releases formaldehyde (what we used in high school to preserve the animals we disected). The EPA says Formaldehyde is one of the top 10 most dangerous chemicals in the home and may be a carcinogen. Definately don't want your kiddo eating that :(

My daughter loved doing the same thing! (And still will if Nanna allows her to find the toddler wipes *rolls eyes* ) My main concern was the choking hazard more than the chemicals etc in them. Most wipes are alcohol free (it stings otherwise) but I can't imagine the soapy stuff could be good for their little tummies. Just try keep them away from her and perhaps, as others have suggested, try a damp face washer or small square of muslin instead.

i had a friend who's son ate one as he liked to do the exact same thing.... he just poo'd it out and was fine..... maybe get some muslim cloth and make it a little damp for her to suck on instead? muslim cloth is breathable so would be safe

Kids are so funny aren't they.
I would try a damp cloth for her to suck on, my daughter loves to suck on a facecloth when she is in the bath, not sure why, but she just loves it.
Otherwise maybe if that doesn't work an icecube (maybe made of juice) wrapped in a muslin cloth.

I had one who did this so just put them up high where she couldn't reach.



Ewww, make sure she's only sucking on clean ones - icky!! Just a thought...



I should also add that I gave my girl those muslin face clothes to use a comforter instead - that worked.

I would definatly try to keep them away from her as wipes to contain some kind of detergent and most wipes contain alcohol unless it specifically says alcohol free on them. We keep our wipes on a high shelf out of reach...it may be inconvient to go get them in a rush to change a diaper but you definalty don't want her chewing on them. And also when she does it tell her no and something along the line of it's icky for your mouth we told our daughter that it would give her owiee in her tummy...Hope this helps

um how hard is it to keep a package of wipes away from a 2 yr old? But no, there are no toxic chemicals in huggies wipes.



there is some soap and its not very nice to digestion but nothing that will kill her.
