They told me he is 8.9 inches and weighs 9oz. This is my first baby.. so i was just wondering is that big?because normal size for a baby on most sites is MUCH smaller.

The weight given is a guess. It varies in accuracy depending on amount of amniotic fluid and position of the baby. Don't be concerned, although that's difficult to do. :)

As long as the doctor doesn't see any problems, I'm sure everything will be fine. As you get closer to your due date, the doctor will let you know if the baby is too big to be delivered vaginally and if you do need to have a c-section. So I would just prepare for both cause no matter what your gonna end up with a beautiful baby!!

I had an ultrasound at 36 weeks which said my son was 9lbs 4ounces. He was born just after 38 weeks weighing 7lbs 10 ounces ( that was two weeks later and he was 2lbs lighter

Take info with a grain of salt. No ultrasound can tell you 100% what your baby will be and how big/long he'll be. My little guy was estimated at 38wks to be 7lbs and about 19inches. He was 10lbs and 24 inches! He had wedged himself up under my ribcage so well that he seemed like an "average" baby.
Unless you doctor says your baby isn't growing properly, don't worry about it.

i dont know of stats like that.. two things i can tell you though... while ultrasounds are awesome, theyre not always 100 accurate.. also.. a baby gains length if you will quicker than pounds until the latter part of your pregnancy.. he/she im sure will turn out just fine,, God Bless
