My midwife recommended raspberry leaf tea as well (but watch the lables, many teas just have raspberry "flavor" which won't hurt, but won't do any good either). She also gave me a "prescription" for daily sexual intercourse with my husband. Also it was probably just a coincidence, but my labor began ten minutes after I finally finished reading "What to Expect When You're Expecting"!
I wouldn't like to recommend anything but I was 1 day before my due date when I went to visit my sister. She gave me raspberry leaf tea as she had nothing else I would drink - she'd brought it when she'd gone overdue and it had done nothing for her. 3 hours after drinking the tea - with no twinges or anything before hand - my little girl was born! I don't know if it was the tea ... good luck with it all. Hope all goes well.

Sex! I'm not kidding, sexual intercourse induces labor. I found this article so I copied and pasted it for you:
Sexual intercourse is known for inducing labor naturally. When a woman experience orgasms, the body releases hormones involved in childbirth, among other functions. A group of hormones that stimulate labor to start by ripening the cervix is Prostaglandins. These may be in synthetic form through a medical prescription, but you can bypass the medical alternative and access Prostaglandins naturally. Semen contains Prostaglandins and when you partner ejaculates during sexual intercourse, the Prostaglandins in the semen will help soften and ripen the cervix, therefore inducing labor.
When women climax their bodies release the hormone Oxytocin. Oxytocin helps the uterus to contract and will strengthen the intensity of your contractions. Therefore, you can see that sexual intercourse helps stimulate or induce labor from hormones released in both the man and the woman. In fact, the medication known as Pitocin is used to induce labor and strengthen contractions and it is a synthetic form of Oxytocin.
Another method of inducing labor naturally is nipple stimulation. Nipple stimulation also releases Oxytocin. Please remember, however, to apply nipple stimulation according to instructions from your midwife or doctor because vigorous nipple stimulation could cause to very strong labor contractions.
So go ahead and have lots of sex!! I'm sure your husband won't mind :) Besides once the baby comes sex will the the last thing on your mind...for the first few weeks anyway. (for me it was like 8 weeks b/c i had a c-section)

Nothing! I tried it all (except castor oil as I was told that can be dangerous) !!
I was induced 12 days overdue with my 3rd...and had tried everything....my Dr. DID say that sex may help induce......but otherwise, just try to relax and wait! It sucks, I know, but not much you can do! (I even had my membranes stripped twice!)

I was 4 days overdue before I went into labor, so I feel for you! But really all I did was walk and walk and walk. There are some methods of natural labor induction like taking castor oil or drinking special herbal tea, but really I wouldn't use those without your doctor's recommendation. The baby will come when he/she is ready, don't worry!
I have heard that actual Rhubarb Root works (don't know??), castor oil works for some. Not sure other than that. Why not ask your doctor to strip your membranes?? Usually that will do it within 3 days at most if your still looking to go naturally. I give you credit for going past your due date! 39+ is hard enough! Good Luck!
