I am 36 weeks pregnant. Is it normal for me not to want to hold other babies right now? I don't even have the desire to hold my 7 month old niece.

I still don't like holding other peoples babies and/or children and my daughter is 20 months. I never really liked it and it worried me how i would be with my own child. You will be fine. I hug my dauhgter all the time, i just can't get enough of her. But, i still just don't really enjoy other peoples kids. Kinda weird, but that's just me :) Good luck with your newborn. You will be busy but loving every waking hour, so much that you will get antsy waiting for your baby to wake up (they sleep sooo much at first).

I was the same way and was worried about that it might effect what would happen after my baby was born, but your instinct kicks in and hormones help. I love my child so, so much, but I still dont have much desire to hold others babies but my own. I dont think there is anything wrong with it at all.

I would not worrie. At 36 weeks Iwas so uncompfortable that I never wanted to hold anything including my purse. then pregnant with my second son I had a hard time holding my 2 year old he was more weight and with the weight of the baby alone I just felt like it was to much. So no worries just relax and get as much rest as you can now cause your not going to get much soon!!!!! Good Luck and Best wishes!!!

Honey,if you have the desire to do anything right now,I give you credit!! Being pregnant is a tough job, especially the first time. I think because of the hormonal changes our bodies go through while we're pregnant we tend to kind of become different people,to the point where sometimes we don't even recognize ourselves. So don't beat yourself up about this, things will go back to normal and you'll feel alot better after you have your baby.

yes, its normal.  your hormones are at their peak, as far as crazy ways you feel and things you do, so dont feel bad. this is the begining signs of how much you care about your baby. the worst thing you can do, especially when youre preggers, is to stress about how you are feeling. this is the one time in your life that you are not in controll of your mind or body. just allow yourself to feel the way you feel, and dont beat yourself up over it. soon, youll have a baby to hold 24 hours a day... enjoy this time, and just be pregnant!! its the one time you can get away with feeling however the heck you want. enjoy it! hope this helps
