Thought I would get something light on the message board today!!
Last night I felt like Super Mommy because my little man (19 months old) was whimpering in his sleep, obviously uncomfortable. I did a light back rub but moments later he was awake and whimpering....a closer look revealed a rare, leaky diaper and soaked through PJ's......in the dark, I took my little one into my arms and laid him on the spare bed....in moments he was changed and snuggling happily in my arms....I put him down in his crib and he fell back into dreamland with no problems. It is in these small moments that I realize how proud I am to be a Mommy; it is so wonderful to be so responsible for the well-being of such a small person. It amazes me that something so dreaded at times (most often I am faced with a "Oh-great-you're-here-can-I-get-up-and-play" toddler standing in his crib at midnight) can turn into such a heartfelt memory. And I know my son thinks I am a super Mommy because every night when we say our bedtime prayers, he will hold my chin and gently kiss my lips goodnight; now that is a reward!!!
I hope you enjoyed what I shared; I can't wait to read what makes other Mommy's feel super.
Cheers to Motherhood!!
