Breast milk is a natural laxative for babies and until there digestive systems get use to it you might see a lot more poopy diapers. If it is a strange color, baby is loosing weight, or even the baby seems uncomfortable or their bottom is soar.... I would call the pediatrician just to ask if they want to see the baby or is they might have any ideas to help a little bit. Better safe than sorry! :)

That can be completely normal. However, if the poop is overly green, foamy, or mucousy, there could be a problem with allergy or too much foremilk and not enough hindmilk.

Sure is! You actually still have a lot of colostrum in the milk you make in the first 3 months or so. Because its has a natural laxative in it it makes babies poop like crazy! You'll probably notice at about 3-4 months that your baby might only poop once a week when you breast feed them. This is totally normal too as breast milk is such a perfect food that there is not a lot of waste product to come out the other end.

this is totally normal. most babies use thier bowels every nappy change because of the colostrum which is wat he needs others can go up to 9 days with out one. 3-4 months should calm down.

That is very normal. A baby has a perfect digestive system. Even as adults we are suppose to poo after ever meal. But as we have gotten older and eating processed food and eating wrong it slows down to none, once a day or a few times a week or simply we are just constipated.

Now as your baby start getting older and you start giving him table food you will see his stool will change from the yellowish color to the light brown then dark brown. At that time you will know that his digestive system is becoming off track.

But keep your baby on a healthy eating plan and everything will be okay!

it i very normal especially with a breastfeed baby, eventually he will go down to one or less poos a day. my son pooded alot when he was first born by around 1month he was down to one poo. i know as a first mom i worried about everything, try not to it can get exhausting.

Very normal. My baby pooped almost every diaper until I stopped breast feeding him at 5 months. Breastmilk is easy for babies to digest; when you do switch to formula your baby will be constipated for a day or 2 before he poops solid ones. Then it will be only once or twice a day.

Welcome to being a mom. This is just one more of those things nobody warned you about before you had a baby. It will get better. Be careful, during this faze diaper rash can be a problem.

all babies are different i know when i was breastfeeding my son he was pooping at least 5 times a day if not more... then i switched him to formula and he stopped pooping as much.. the difference is because the breastmilk is thinner so it is quite normal for him to poop alot more... don't be alarmed babies digest breast milk alot faster than formula fed babies

breastfeed babies can either poo every feed or they can go a couple of days without going. all normal. as long as its a good colour and a normal; consistancy its all good!!

It is probably because breast milk is so much easier to digest which is also why they also tend to feed more than formula fed babies.

Sounds totally normal according to my experience. My ped. told me breast fed babies can "normally" have 17 poop diapers a day, including the "just colored water" looking ones. Weight gain/loss is a great measuring tool. My ped. was very up to date on beast feeding. Please discuss all your cares with your own ped. Hopefully he/she will be extremely supportive as mine was. You can also get in touch with the group "Nursing Mothers" in your area. Good luck!!

My daughter did the same thing for the first few months of breast feeding. I think I changed her poopy diapers about ten maybe 7 times a day. I wouldn't worry about it.:-)
