I was 2 cms dilated for 2 weeks and he just wouldn't come, I tried curries, walking, even sex didn't do it and I was too sore to enjoy it!  Bummer.  Matey, i don't know that any of it works.  I was induced.  This was not my first, but my second bub.  I know it is hard, but do try to enjoy the last days.  After the little one arrives.....hello zombie.  Good luck.

I do actually. I know it sounds a little crass but orgasm can definitely initiate uterine contractions. I am not even kidding.

This is so funny...hopefully by now you have had that baby, as well as lots of sex, castor oil, spicy food, primrose oil, raspberry leaf tea, walked about 162 miles, moved all of your furniture, and somewhere in between hopefully you have had the time to rest so you will be refreshed and ready for labor and everything that follows! Good luck!

SEX! I was in labor for 3 weeks without dilating so finally I gave in to my husband and 6 hours later I was nearly fully dilated. So: no matter how uncomfortable you may be SEX~

I used a breast pump. just a little though you don't want to deplete the colostrum.

I have 3 children, and my Dr recommended that I take "Evening Prim Rose" which is a herb you can find at Walgreens (or any pharmacy). It is fairly inexpensive. It will help soften and dialate the cervex. I was scared the first time I did this, (just due to lack of information), but with further research, I found that it is perfectly safe, and very effective. One capsule in the morning, and one at night, along with Rasberry Tea. (You can drink as much of the tea as you feel like drinking).....Good Luck!!

Last week it's the worse... but its just one more step to have your baby in your arms, just think about :)

I had a natural delivery and trust me the pain its unbearable but God made us for this so we can do it!.... remember to always breath deep and trying to relax tell your hubby to help you reminding you to constantly breath and ignore anything bad that you could say at that moment....

Good Luck

I haven't read through the other replies so I don't know if anyone has mentioned this or not. Go bowling. With my second son I went bowling without trying to induce labor, just for fun. My water broke less than 12 hours later. This was bad in my case because he was a month early but sicne you're a week past your due date it shouldn't be a problem. Just don't try to life more than the 6lbs or 8lbs balls.

I was a week overdue with my first, too. On Friday, whenever I walked anywhere, even to the kitchen, I added a little bounce to my step...my water broke at midnight that night and he was born 24 hrs later. Good luck!!

I was overdue and this is the most frustrating. Best Advice is to relax and rent some really good classic movies/ or try to focus on something else. The baby will come you will have those contraction's any day now it's the law of nature. Some due dates aren't exact so your baby know's when he/she is ready. You know you are I know. However if thing's become to uncomfortable talk to your physician. The easiest or fastest way to have a baby is when the contraction's come on their own.

Poor you! I was overdue and tried everything, went for long walks followed by a madras eaten whilst bouncing on a gym ball with pineapple and payapa for dessert!!! Haha!

Nothing.

Not even a cramp.

I went into labour on the 20th April last year. Harry was due on the 9th.

I had given up all of the trying on the Friday - the final staw was trying to have sex whilst almost 10 month pregnant! :o)

Anyway... I led a perfectly normal Saturday and I had scampi and chips for tea followed by a bath with Lush products. The next day I woke up with contractions.

Now, when anyone asks, I tell them that scampi and lush brings on labour. Haha!

I think your baby will just come when it's ready, it's all fluke. I'm sorry you're so late. It sucks.

My first child was overdue too.  My Dr. suggested a go home have a glass of wine, and a hot bath, then a nap.  I woke up an hour later in labour!

I heard that sex will usually bring on labor.  So if your up for it.  Go for it and let us know when the baby comes.  Good Luck.

Having unprotected sex can stimulate labor, or at least thinning and ripening of the cervix. Semen contains prostaglandins, which are irritating stimulants. It won't hurt you or your baby.

I hope that your little one has arrived...................but if not, here's what I tried:

eating mango

eating pineapple

walking

lots of interestingly positioned sex

3 different curries - and the curry that finally worked was a lamb bhuna, madras strength. Two hours later, I was ready to have my baby!
