I am having a really hard time getting pregnant with #2 .... any suggestions?

Hey Alexandria, I am dealing with the same thing My son will be 3 in Nov And i thought i would have a second baby by now too,Turn that not the case as well me and my husband been trying for the last year with no luck i always it would be easy with my second baby everybody tell me once you have your first one its so easy the next time. seen my son was born i been on depo shot for a year and half and the last year i been TTC.. i run across the website with some great review about pills to help getting pregnant i Just order me 2 months of them you can check it as well hopeful it will help for the both of us conceiveeasy.com GOOD luck

thanks for all your replies ... it is sooo comforting to know that there are others out there with the same problem or have had the same problem and it is great to hear the successes! that helps me think that waithing is worth while. i just seem to get down and then start thinking that it is never gonna happen and it breaks my heart. my son woke up the other morning talking about his brother, and i told him he didnt have a brother and he said ya mummy i was playing with him in the night, this just about brought me to tears .... silly me it is almost making me cry again!!

It's hard to know the reasons for anyone's infertility. My husband and I have been trying for 18 months to have a second child. I have a son who will be 3 at the end of March. He's a miracle and I had him after 2 miscarriages. Since we have been trying for #2 I had another miscarriage. We are seeing a fertility specialist and I just finished an IUI cycle. I am waiting now to see if I am pregnant. The only thing they think could be my issue is my age. I was 42 when my son was born and I just turned 45. So, another child may not be in my future. But, I hope that I am wrong. I wish everyone in this situation much luck and succeess - myself included! I wish I could offer some advice. All I have is my story.

My husband and I have been trying for over 5 years for another...we have a 7 year old boy.  I really don't want to do the firtility drug path, so we're just being patient and letting things happen, but that can be very frustrating and depressing for me.  It's so hard because I feel bad for people that haven't even had one yet, but it's still a struggle for me too.  Most days I just thank God we were blessed with our fabulous little boy.  I'm definately going to try the red raspberry leaf tea...thanks for the suggestion.  Good luck to all!

Ya i agree, i have found that they use that excuse for everything (and i am heavier than i probably should be) and it is really off putting and makes me never wanting to go to the doctor. Since it has been year and a half for me trying to conceive i have finally just decided to go to a doctor to see what is going on. yesterday i had a great appointment with a lovely lady doctor that never mentioned my weight at all. She listed a bunch of things that could be my problem and not one of them had anything to do with my weight ... so i will see what happens!!

I agree with the weight not being an issue, and didn't even know doctors were using that.  I am not overweight, nor are alot of women I know who had a hard time conceiving.  I think doctors say that when they don't know what else to say.

Hi my name is Alicia. I had my first daughter back in 2002. Getting pregnant with her was easy. But then as the years went by, I wasn't getting pregnant, and I was never on any birth control, I later found out I have PCOS. About 2 years ago, my sister-in-law told me to take some Red Raspberry leaf, that it is a natural herb to help with "Woman Things", like our monthly cycle, getting pregnant, if you are pregnant it helps prepares for birth, and all kinds of good stuff. First I tried the pill form, ( you can buy this at local grocery stores in health/natural food section), I started to get my period on a regular basis. Then I found a liquid/oil form and put 2 drop fulls in a juice drink every morning to take. Doesnt taste too good, so mix well. Then two months after that I was Pregnant! Now I have a 9 month old baby girl. Google Red Raspberry leaf, the info is out there, and it's amazing. I have a 6 1/2 year old and a 9 month old, I don't think I could have had my second without Red Raspberry leaf.

Feel free to ask me any more questions about this. And FYI the docs told me too to lose weight and that would be a cure all to have a second baby...but I think other things come into play with that. and my second daughter is proof, cause I didn't lose weight from my first. Not that I am saying not to lose weight, believe me I want to and just started working out at 24hr fitness, just saying weight is not the issue causing us not to have kids is all.

Hi ladies....reading your stories is so much like my own. I tried for years with fertility treatments for my first! I too have PCOS. Clomid never worked. My Ob finally put me on METFORMIN! If you have not tried this ask your doc about it. It's actually an insulin script but they have found in some cases it works for PCOS as it can be an insulin resistant problem. Sounds crazy but it worked for my first and when we wanted a second they put me on that right away and within a few months I was pregnant. I do agree with Amy, in God's time as I now have a third that we are blessed with but didn't plan! I will keep you all in my thoughts as I know how it can be such a struggle to concieve when that is all you want.

I tried and tried for a long time and then my doctor put me on clomid...it makes you produce more eggs.  You take it on day 5-9 of your cycle.  One try for me on that, and I am expecting.  Maybe it is worth talking to your doctor about.  Good luck, and happy trying!!! ;)

We were trying for our second since Dylan turned 1 and it took us nearly 4yrs, We went through 3 miscarraiges and one eptopic that nearly took my life and we finally managed to conceive with just one tube :) I now have a health 3mth old little boy. Try not to get to depressed about the whole situation as it wont help :) during my trying I went from a size 14 to a size 12 so lost a little but not heaps and ate healthy, also it can get expensive but I was taking those pregnancy gold tablets for a cple months in the end just b4 we fell pregnant (not sure it helped, buts its all worth a try). Pray! Pray! Pray! It is frustrating when you are trying to get pregnant and cant. I know! I have a 5 yr old little girl. I got pregnant the 2nd time on the first try and lost it. After that it took 10 months before I ever got pregnant again. I am now 13wks along.  Ive been in your shoes. Hang in there. It will happen in Gods time not ours.

Thanks, it helps to know that others are going throu the same thing. The thing that really gets me is I got pregnant with my son fresh out of highschool when we were 18 and now that we are married and are actually trying for a second one it doenst happen. very frusterating thats for sure. I agree with the weight thing to cause i am alot heavier now than i was the first time around so i am currently trying to work on that. I am scheduled for some scans and such in March so i guess i will see what i can find out!!

Hi! My name is Marlo and I thought I would share my story with you, altough I don't know if it's something you'll want to hear.  My son is 8 1/2 years old and we have tried since he was 18 months old!!  I got pregnant the first month we tried.  It is soooo frustrating and Doctors have no idea, it's called secondary infertility.

Hi there. I've been trying for my second for 5 years. People always told me to just stop stressing about it and it would happen. but guess what, it hasnt. I've tried fertility treatments and still nothing. I have PCOS, wich means I dont ovulate regulary. My doc is now telling me to loose weight, since when I got pregnant the first time, I was 150 pounds lighter. lol. Might be worth talking to your OB/GYN to see what options you have, it you havent already. Probably havent been much help to you, but I'm feeling your pain girl.
