I am looking for unique baby name suggestions. Not weird, or made up, but rarely used ones.

baby name books are fun.

My husband and I knew that we wanted our daughters name to start with a C. We sat together with the baby name book and websites and wrote down every C name that caught or eye. We then took the list and both scratched off 5 names. we took turns narrowing down the list to 5 names. We then came up with middle names to go with the 5 that were left. We each ranked the list independantly # 1 being our favorite and #5 being our least and compaired lists when we were done. It was a great process and we had a lot of fun doing it. Caitlyn Elizabeth wasboth of our #2 picks. She was named by both of us. This info might not help you find more possiblites for names but I hope it helps you decide on your childs name. We kept the papers and they are in her Baby book, we thought she might enjoy knowing what she could have been named.

I love odd and unique baby names and named my 4 year old Ireland Hope. Until a child recently moved to my town, I had only ever heard or seen the name once-Kim Basinger named her daughter that.

We were in the same boat when we had our children. We wanted something that was recognizable (and that people could pronouce) so we went with oldies, but goodies.

I have two daughters and we struggled with names, too! Our 8-year old is named Sydnie. This name has become quite popular, but we still love it!

Our 3-year old is Kendall Corinne. I wanted Campbell or Kennedy for her first name but compromised with my husband and we went with Kendall.

Hope this helps you!

My daughters name is Carson Alexandra Rose and my sons name is Mason Gunner Rose. I like tomboy names for girls like Logan or Teegan. I also like the names Danika and Delissa. For boys I always liked Kyle or Sean. Good luck with the name thing and congratulations on the new baby!

My 2 year old daughters name is Skylar. I love that name and I get so many compliments on it. It can also be used for a boys name (Skyler), but I prefer it for a girl myself. I do think Kyler is adorable for a boy though!

i named my last son Deegan......I have only found one other...and when you search in baby name sights, it is not found. but I was watching tv when I was pregnant with him and was watching a guy named Brian deegan..........a pro dirt bike rider...i did not know who he was, I was just flipping channels. Something told me right then that I had my sons name....I turned a last name into a first name. at first people thought i was crazy, but now it fits my son so well.

Our son's name is Errol Scott. My mother-in-law also has a very unusual name, but I think it's pretty. It's Diantha Ann.

We just named our daughter Austyn. It's more commonly known as a boy's name, but it is also a girl's name. Mostly, I've had people loving it, but, of course, there are those who like more traditional names.

Start by altering your own name...different spellings, pronouncations, etc...then do the same with your husbands name. Then combine them in ways that would make sense and would make good names. My kids names are Jaron and Saycia (Say-sha)

I had the same issue as you do with finding a unique baby name, I wanted something different but not weird. I did not accomplish different. I thought I did but didn't. i have four kids, two of each. Mine are; Jenna Elizabeth, Ethan John, Elijah Riley and Hayden Emmaliegh. My suggestion is to find a name you like and give it your own spine like a little different spelling or combining two that you like.

My husband and I are both into the unique baby names. We like to switch up the spellings of the names, and we also liked some boy names for girls. We named our first son CeJae (C.J.) and if he would of been a girl the name would of been Calixta James. I know it's silly, but I really think the model that is named James King is gorgeous and my husbands middle name is James so James as a middle name just worked weather a boy or a girl.

Sorry if somebody already suggested this........

I haven't read any of the posts but want to offer up an idea I wish I'd thought of when searching for a unique baby name. I've recently begun studying the Bible and I am amazed at some of the really cool names in there. Some of them are still very common today, and some I've never heard before. Good luck.

So many names to consider. My sons are called Taylor and Cameron mainly due to their scottish heritage. We have lots of unusual names at school, Jett, Kaylan, Drew, Brock, Ky, Reese, to name but a few. there is a website in Canada that tells you the meaning of each name. i found this to be pretty accurate with my own name and now in reflection of my own children!.. Good Luck. Jakki

Well I didn't name my boys anything unusual they are Sergio Elijah, and Christian Joaquin...but my real and true name is Temper which is very unusual. I have always loved the sound of Marilyn Raine for a girl and Julian for a boy. More girls name I like Ashton, Amberlin...things of that sort. I only have 2 boys so I've never had the chance to put these names to use. Hope you like one of 'em or they inspire a new name for you!

I love it when people go back to the old names. My niece is named Annabelle, after my grandmother. If I had a daughter, I'd like to name her Sophia Rose. Look back on your family tree and find some of the interesting names from your past (or your husband's). I recently ran into a woman that named her baby Ruby.

My 15 Year old daughter's name is Audrey. It is not a weird name. But , it is not that common. There is one other Audrey in her high school. And you always think of the beautiful Audrey Hepburn.
