I am looking for unique baby name suggestions. Not weird, or made up, but rarely used ones.

Well I didn't name my boys anything unusual they are Sergio Elijah, and Christian Joaquin...but my real and true name is Temper which is very unusual. I have always loved the sound of Marilyn Raine for a girl and Julian for a boy. More girls name I like Ashton, Amberlin...things of that sort. I only have 2 boys so I've never had the chance to put these names to use. Hope you like one of 'em or they inspire a new name for you!

I love it when people go back to the old names. My niece is named Annabelle, after my grandmother. If I had a daughter, I'd like to name her Sophia Rose. Look back on your family tree and find some of the interesting names from your past (or your husband's). I recently ran into a woman that named her baby Ruby.

My 15 Year old daughter's name is Audrey. It is not a weird name. But , it is not that common. There is one other Audrey in her high school. And you always think of the beautiful Audrey Hepburn.

I wanted something easy and not used a lot I named my son Eric Tyler and if he was a girl she would of been named Tylinn (pronounced Ty-Lynn) Rae I love that name so much.

We named our daughter Gwyneth Cecilia. My husband chose the name Gwyneth and we both liked it for its uniqueness. His sister has taught school for over 20 years and never had a Gwyneth before. It's a real name, but more common in the UK (it's Welsh). Cecilia is a family name from my mother's side.

Lena is a great name:) (pronounced Lee-nah)

My father's favorite jazz singer was Lena Horne. That was my birth name. I always thought my name was too old or something but eventually grew to like my own name because I only heard of it twice in my lifetime. And I was the only one at all of my school, including college, with that name. The sucky part is when i want to buy one of those coffee mugs with your name on it, you will get "Leanna", never "Lena". Good luck.

Quoting Jajaira:

My first daughter's name is Nayeli Lissette... and I'm naming my next one (due June 1st) Keilah Lorreina...

My mom has a co-worker friend who's middle name is Nayeli...But she spells it "Naleli" Or something like that. Her grandmother thought the spelling was prettier..even though it doesn't pronounce the same. haha Either way, I LOVE that name. I forget the meaning though... :(

Boy or girl name? I really like when children have a family name that is rarely used. For instance, one of my friends is named Zeverly (like Beverly, but with a" Z") which was her maternal grandmother's maiden name. Your name is hyphenated...is Baizley your maiden name? It's an awesome name and would make really great first name, especially because of the history and family connection, etc.You could also check back through the grandmother names on both sides and find a maiden name to which you are drawn (given that traditionally women have dropped their last name to take their husbands, a lot of unique surnames have become less used).

Let us know which name you choose!

My sons name is Gage (a name come to be common but I still love it) Kalan is his middle name. Kalan is short for Kalani n is hawaiin...it means cheif. I thought it was appropriate since it was our first born. With my fiance being hawaiin it helps bc all the names are different. Noelani was a name I choose if I had a girl. I like the name Rayne for a girl. Willow is also pretty. Saphire (pronounced sah-fear-ey) is pretty. I like the names Lennox for a boy. Liam is nice n so is Lelahnd (pronounced lee-land) My step-daughters name is Phoenix. Falcon is also a good boy name so is Griffon. Grey was also a choice on my list. Haha I have alot of favorite baby names. I always found Hawaiin names are the most unique and are gorgeous.

my two beautiful girls are Jaymii Louise & Zarlii Jane, Jaymii was going to be Rhylan if she was a boy, Zarlii was going to be Billy, bad I know, our last name is Ray, but for some reason I couldn't get past it. Billy is traditional, but rarely used.

I wanted something different but not to unusual for my girl.

Layla Mae, it suits her to a tee

[deleted account]

my 3 boys would have been named Anastasia Dionna, Aurora Jade and Arianna Marisol.. if any of them would have been girls. Aurora means "Dawn or New beginning". Arianna is "holy one." instead a got Garrett Miller, Gavin Preston, and Adriel (ass-ree-el) Jesus.

My sons names are Declan (deck-lan) John and Fionn (fin) Peter, both Irish, and my daughter is Abigail Mary. All have saints' names for middle names. But I love Genevieve, Lochlan, Daziel (dee-el), Eamonn (ai-mon), Mireille (mir-ay), Mhari (var-ee) and Niamh (neeve). I'm also partial to my grandmothers' names Lillian and Mabel. Please note with the odd spellings our boys can get some pretty funny pronunciations.

I named my son Izak (pronounced like the traditional Isaac). The name is old but not heard too often, it kinda skipped a generation, and we modernized the spelling. The meaning is "He will laugh" which pretty much set the name in stone for us.

OH! Also like the name Trenton. My friend named her boy this and I've never known anyone else with this name.

My name is Khrysia.(sounds like(chris-see-ya))....in my 32 years I have only met one other person with the same spelling and she lives in Germany!...lol

My daughter's name is Jerzie (like Jersey but I didn't want anyone thinking we named her after a shirt! or a city so I came up with this spelling). We get many compliments on it and it fits her personality well.

I believe that if you visit the Social Security webpage that there is a link that will bring you to what the most commonly used names are for right now. When naming my daughter, I followed a hebrew tradition in limiting the initials from the grandparents. So in essence you have 8 initials to choose from. It really helps to narrow the fields some and you also are honoring the grandparents by naming your child similarly. My Daugher's name is Mara Jade. M from my mother and J from my fiance's father. If she would have a boy her name would have been Riley Matthew. R from my fiance's father and M from my mother.

Hope this helps you.

I love odd and unique baby names and named my 4 year old Ireland Hope. Until a child recently moved to my town, I had only ever heard or seen the name once-Kim Basinger named her daughter that.

I had the same issue as you do with finding a unique baby name, I wanted something different but not weird. I did not accomplish different. I thought I did but didn't. i have four kids, two of each. Mine are; Jenna Elizabeth, Ethan John, Elijah Riley and Hayden Emmaliegh. My suggestion is to find a name you like and give it your own spine like a little different spelling or combining two that you like.

My husband and I are both into the unique baby names. We like to switch up the spellings of the names, and we also liked some boy names for girls. We named our first son CeJae (C.J.) and if he would of been a girl the name would of been Calixta James. I know it's silly, but I really think the model that is named James King is gorgeous and my husbands middle name is James so James as a middle name just worked weather a boy or a girl.
