I was thinking BRU would do that. I know they've taken other brands back. They're feeding sections in all of their stores are now BPA-free - so they don't even carry the bottles with BPA anymore. :) Avent really isn't on board with the whole BPA-free thing - they just brought out a BPA-free bottle b/c customers were wanting it. So, I would try BRU before approaching the actual Avent company - if you bought the bottles there (maybe even if not - ?). From what I understand, Target and Walmart are soon going to be BPA-free in the baby feeding sections, too. Glad more places are getting on board!

It's my understanding that Avent never did a recall on their bottles. Maybe I am wrong about that. However, Babies R Us did a recall on all bottles containing BPA and were exchanging Avent bottles for the newer BPA-free ones. A friend of mine exchanged her bottles at a Virginia Babies R Us last year. She had to call and ask them about it though because they weren't advertising anything.

I haven't heard anything about a recall in the US, but I do know that Avent did not make a BPA-free bottle until the fall of 2008 (I'm wanting to say October..?). Any bottles of that brand before then have BPA, and the ones that are BPA-free are labeled as such and have a slight honey tint to them.
If you're worried about your little one drinking from a bottle with BPA, call the company and see if they will exchange them - or contact the store where you purchased them. I think some stores will do an exchange perhaps. I personally would prefer to use cups, etc withOUT BPA, but it's up to you. If it's a really big deal to you and they won't exchange, maybe it's worth it to simply buy more that are BPA-free. I wouldn't focus on worrying about what has been done or used already and just decide what is important for you from this point forward.

Quoting Claudia:
I bought Avent bottles in 2008 and My brother friend that works in the hospital told me that Avent bottles are being recalled for BPA, is that true for United States or just Canada? I'm sort of scared for my baby b/c she's now 7 months old and still drinking her bottles. Can anyone tell me if this is true?
