Hi Kirsty, I had my little boy in hospital at 7 weeks with reflux, and he suffered very bad with wind and colic. They show me a move to help him, put him between your knees and rock from your chest to your knees. Air bubbles move around and dont always come up, sometimes moving from side to side, moves it around. Also what worked wonders for me, was walking upstairs and back down a couple of times. Have you tried gripe water? I didnt like it, as i found it gave Devon diarohea, but great for the colic pain. Does your baby have a dodi, if so he wont take it, if there is wind still inside him, will always spit it out.. I still do the dodi test, checking that all the wind is up. I hope this helps a little...Cute little guy

I agree with the gravity post....my youngest son had colic every evening for some weeks...i used to give him dentinox colic drops and then just walk around with him upright against my shoulder for however long it took....(pretty tedious, i know!) also he used to relax and settle if put down on his tummy, obviously only at times when your able to watch him......good luck with it, it will get better...... i promise! xx

I found gravity was a great help. Hold the baby under the arms as you would hold them up to your face in talk and play and talk and play with them, even when they are crying continue eventually you will get the babies attention and as gravity pulls the baby down the air will naturally expel and babies swollow less air when they are laughing than crying. I know it sounds too simple and if trying to get the baby to sleep you may feel your waking them up but a baby sleeps longer with no wind and the play will help tire the baby . Once your baby has relaxed the wind will pass naturally ,it also teaches them at an early age to allow the wind to pass, another lesson our children have to go through. oh they have so much to learn.

rub his back and sit him up straight- this is really all u can do at such a young age !! I found letting my little one sleep on his tummy in the day helped - putting him on his back at night

Hey Kirsty have you tried Dentinox Colic Drops? If your not sure what to use you can always ask your midwife or the doctor. Also if the Infacol is making you little one constipated have you tried giving sme cooled boiled water or trying some infant massage on your babies stomach? From around 6 - 12 weeks my little girl was same but all seems to be good now, she is 15 weeks.

i swear by the tummy tub (its a bath shaped like a bucket) as it was my mini god when my first was a baby, he was very gripit with his wind. Cold boiled water helped too.. Gripe water is good but i found Oliver brought up more milk with it. Also going up and down stairs or holding your baby securely and bending down...both moves the air trapped in the stomach and brings it up. Most mothers i've shown or told them the bending down trick think i'm mad but i swear by it.
