I went in to get my tubes tied and found out I was pregnant - at 40. This will be my third child. I noticed that my body seems to "remember" going through this and things are happened. I am 12 weeks today and none of my clothes fit. I mean it is so tight I feel like I'm suffocating. This morning I'm sitting on the bed and my husband is like look at your hips. Before getting pregnant I was a size 10 and relatively well proportioned. Now - I look like I could back it up and drop it like it's hot.
The other nite, he was rubbing my stomach and jerked his hand back like he was electrocuted. I was like what's wrong. He said I felt the baby move and was afraid I was hurting him. lol. That sucker is in there like Fort Knox. The point is, depending on which child this is, your body will respond differently - it already knows when to start expanding, how big your hips need to be, how much milk to produce. It's pretty amazing.
So don't stress out. Babies in the womb are the commander in chief of your body. Eat well, walk a little everyday and all should be fine :-)

I wore my regular jeans up till I was 8 months or so when it got to the point where I couldn't butten them I used a hair tie. But I also work at a vet and wore scrub pants (which was wonderful since they are like I was in pj's) all the time. But I say wear what ever you want. Preg. women are beautifu. I can't wait to start trying for my second child I really miss being pregnant.

No one could tell I was prego my first if I had a coat on, then my second I needed bigger pants by week 5. Thats how I found out I was having twins!! At the end maternity pants didn't fit right because my legs were still slim but my belly was so huge!! Everyone is different. Don't compare yourself to anyone else's pregnancy, its a losing battle!

I was around 12-13 weeks or so too. I tried the hair tie trick for a while and eventually went and bought a belly band to make my jeans last a little longer. It's basically a tube top that you wear just over your belly and jeans. You can leave your pants unbuttoned under it and it keeps them up for you. You can find them pretty much at any maternity store. I also agree with Cora - Old Navy or hand me downs for maternity clothes. I even got stuff from rummage sales or consignment stores. Hope that helps.

I felt big in my second pregnancy. No one could tell I was pregnant until I was 7 or 8 months unless I told them in my first pregnancy. I was a size 4 when I became pregnant and was a size 8 when I gave birth. I had clothes from all sizes so it wasn't like I had to buy new clothes

The minute the sperm hits the egg my hips spread. Buy 1 pair of comfy stretch maternity jeans and 1 pair of all occasion maternity black pants. This way you will feel more comfortable and it's easy to use most of your old shirts (at least for awhile). Old Navy has great prices on maternity or get hand me downs. It's not forever only a few months out of your life.

I was given the advice that I should not be afraid to wear maternity clothes by the time I was 3 months pregnant. Thank God someone told me not to feel bad because I needed bigger jeans at that point. Just embrace it! Once you can feel the baby move, you might start to actually love your big belly. Sometimes I miss that feeling! It's normal to feel big, just remember you are growing a human being, be compassionate with yourself and go buy some cute maternity jeans :)
