I had a miscarriage last week, and think I may have had a second this morning?

A week ago I miscarried. I was about 7-8 weeks pregnant, and saw the little fetus after (which is how I'm sure). It's been devestating. I hadn't been to the doctor yet, so I don't know whether I was carrying twins or not (they are REALLY common in my family) but then this morning, I had about an hour of really bad cramping followed by heavy bleeding and passing large blood clots. Is it possible or likely that I just had a second miscarriage? I didn't see a fetus this time, but it seemed like the cramping and bleeding were very severe and abrupt. I've had light to medium bleeding on and off since last week, but NOTHING like this. Yesterday I had some weird twinge feelings in my uterus, but other than that no cramping or pain since my miscarriage until today. Now the pain is pretty much gone but I'm still bleeding. I know it's possible to miscarry twins seperately, and I'm wondering if that's what it sounds like? (Dr. isn't open yet...)

I have had two consecutive miscarriages, and I think what you experienced is normal.

From what I gather the first "passing" is usually the embryo or the fetus, and then a couple days later the bleeding, and clots will continue or increase as your body is flushing out the thick membrane tissue of the uterine wall. If you are feeling faint, or are filling more than a pad an hour, then go to the emergency as it could be an incomplete miscarriage and cause hemorrhaging.



With my miscarriages it was not uncommon to drop clots around the size of kiwis. (Sorry for TMI. It is hard to explain any other way.)



I am very sorry for what you are experiencing. It is a very hard thing to deal with. If this was your first miscarriage then there is a good chance that there was chromosomal abnormalities that was beyond your control. Two or more consecutive miscarriages may need intervention from fertility specialists.



Get a lot of rest, and take it easy.

I'm sorry for your loss.

When I had a miscarriage at 6 weeks, I bled for a few days, had a break for a week and a half, and then started bleeding heavily again. I think it's just that your body is cleaning everything out to get back to normal. (there is zero history of twins in my family, I'm sure it was only the one in there)



If you keep bleeding, maybe you should see a doctor to make sure everything is normal. I really didn't want to because I hate the idea of them fiddling around down there with not even a baby as a reward, but after a few weeks everything was back to normal, so I didn't have to. If you're bleeding off and on for more than 3 weeks, or if you start feeling sick, I think you should go in, unpleasant or not.

It is possable, but it also happens that even after you stop bleeding after a miscarrage that you did not get completely cleaned out and that starts the bleeding and cramping all over and yes large clots are part of that I have been through it, but it is also possible to lose one twin and keep the other I have seen that happen, so the best thing I can tell you is go to the dr. They would be able to run the blood work to see where your homone levels are and if nessicery do an ultrasound or DNC. Miscarages are no fun and very heartbreaking I am sorry that you are having to go through this I will be praying for you and your family.
