Let him breath no diaper! NAKED!!! my boys were naked except at nap time. Messy but fun! my youngest is almost 5 and he's been completly potty trained before he was 2. Rewards for going in the potty (jelly beans) worked wonders.
He never used pull ups. Thats the worst thing i think they have ever made for kids. WORST!!

First you have to be consistant. Put in the pot first thing in the AM again mid morning before lundh and after nap. in mid afternoon, I think you have the idea. Be patient and don't scold or punish. Praise him after each sucess. don't rely on on pull ups they can make him lazy. You must be committed.

hi,
A lot of people start about this time introducing a potty that is sized right for your toddler. And with boys, most people start with them sitting, lol less mess in the training stage. It's one thing to learn to go when you feel the urge but aiming will come with practice!
Let help pick his potty, go home set it up and then let him know that he can use it anytime he wants.
Don't mention it again for a day or two unless he does.
After a day or two ask him if he would like to use his potty when you go potty.
You can also let him go without a diaper as often as possible, take him to the potty at intervals of 30-60 minutes and let him try to use it.
When he is diapered keep an eye out for signs that he needs to go pee, then "race" him to the potty. Anytime he goes, ,make a BIG deal out of it. Lots of praise and kisses etc.
But don't make a big deal out of accidents or missed opportunities, he needs only positive reactions.
If he is adamant that he uses the big toilet and/or demands to stand like other big boys, you can throw a handful of cheerios in the bowl and have him aim for them!! This worked wonders with my first who wouldn't use a small potty and wouldn't "sit like a girl" lol.
If after a couple of weeks of leaving the potty out and no results, don't worry, leave it in place and wait patiently.
Going diaperless is the best way to teach him to know when he has to go and what it feels like.
Good Luck and be patient, this is one milestone you should never push too hard with, and never discourage him.

has he started showing signs of being ready?! like taking his diaper off or showing interest in the big potty? with my son i started potty training right after his 2nd birthday. we had talked to him about it a couple days up to it. then he started watching his daddy use the potty. one day he woke up and i put underwear on him every 30 min a would take him to potty. im a stay at home mom so the 1st week we didnt go out much. that week there was pee spots all though the house. but he got the hang of it pretty fast. he will be 3 in oct. he still wears a diaper when he sleeps cuz hes not fully potty trained at night. we are working on that now! good luck
