I do nurse my son and I have three other kids besides my son to take care of. I work full time and I don't want to join a gym. I do eat a healthy diet. Breakfast - eggs and toast, Lunch - sandwhich maybe a salad, Dinner- some kind of meat (pork chops, chicken, steak....), veggies, rice or pasta. I have a snack in between breakfast and lunch then another snack between lunch and dinner.

I currently weigh 165, I'm 25 years old and I'm 5'4. I would like to lose about 30 pounds

Im in the same position right now and i found that it is easier to lose the weight when i took out bread, rice, noodles, so instead of a sandwich maybe a salad with grilled chicken, and chicken im pretty sure is better then porkchops and steak,my doctor told me if i were to eat rice, noodles, potatoes, and bread, and i didnt exercise, those foods would turn into straight sugar in my body.

wait till u have ur doctors ok... and as far as dieting goes it's all about portion sizes... you'd be surprised how many calories will add up from drinks alone... stay away from juices and pops for sure... but go to this website http://www.healthstatus.com/calculate/de...

it's a calculator that figures out how many cals ur body burns naturally in a day... eat 500-800 less cals than it tells you ur body burns...

a tip as well is it takes 3500 cals to lose a pound

that means if you naturally burn 2000 a day and you eat 1400 that day you will have burned 600 to go towards ur 3500

remember the most you want to lose is 2 pounds per week nething more is unhealthy

stay away from foods high in sugars, carbs and saturated/trans fats and try to eat as much protein in a day as you can

and good luck!

I gained about 70 lbs between my two kids. When my son was born I got serious and started exercising at home (Denise Austin is a good start) and I started using Alli. I lost about 40 lbs with that but I platued. I saw an infomercial for 6 week body makeover. I ordered the program and followed it to a T. I lost 80 lbs total in only 6 months. It's an amazing and easy food plan. Easy enough to follow and stick to with a toddler, newborn, and a husband in Iraq. Hope this helps. Good luck!

I gained about 55 pounds during my pregnency and it took me about 8 months to really see and feel the difference in myself, don't lose hope or give up on yourself that's the first real thing to remember. Don't look at your weight either, instead look at your measurements because you might be losing in some areas and don't even know it. That way you know what areas of your body to concentrate on. I use the FIRM workouts they have 20-30 minute express or 35-55 minute full workouts that are all women in the dvd's and they are quiet enough that I'm able to do them while my son sleeps at night right in the other room. Check out Walmart that's where I got mine.

The best diet I was ever on was when I was pregnant with my son only b/c I had to be. I had gestational diabetes and lost a total of 40 lbs by watching my carbs and cutting out regular pop and pasta. And of course I craved all the things I couldn't eat but I felt a lot better

So by breastfeeding you burn 500 calaries a day. I added walking to that and I lost 6 inches in 3 weeks. I would walk about 4 miles and my son loves it and it was good for the both of us. if your not nursing then I would just walk. your OB can't tell you not to walk. Just don't over do it!

I would cut out the pork, beef, the carbs, and any sugars (other than fruit)
Keep your calorie intake up to breastfeed but only eat healthy options. You can walk slowly in the evening to get your body started with the exercise. Also, take the stairs every chance you get. And swim, its the perfect weather now, and you use all of your muscles.

Breastfeeding is the BEST way to kick-start any plans to lose weight. This really helps to shed the pounds that the baby put on. After the doctor gives you the ok to resume normal activity then don't take a single moment off your feet until bedtime. Stay active~ this will be good for both you & your son. I always tell my friends to give it time & remember that it took nine months to put it on...so, give yourself at LEAST nine months to get it off. The biggest thing is not to become discouraged, continue your healthy dietary habits, and burn more calories than you consume. A last note- go ahead and start doing Kegel exercises...it will make a difference in the long-run. Good luck & keep your head up high! : )

I was told that i have to wait till after my 6 week follow up visit to the OB/GYN and then they will give you the green light to start dieting/excersing.....and also with BF your son then you need all the calories that you eat for your son....i would just talk to your OB/GYN and see what they suggest...everyone is different.....good luck
