My daughter is almost 10 months, 19.5 lbs and 27". I've started looking at different forward-facing child seats, but I'm a little overwhelmed at the many different types out there. Any suggestions?

Ours is a safety first, bought it off target.com for 180.00 or so. It goes rear and front facing. Check your state regulations on when you can change them over. I know our doctor said to try and keep our son rear facing til 2.... pfft that didn't work he screamed all the time. we changed him over at 14 months. I like our carseat cuz it breaks down as the child grows. So if we don't get in a accident; this will be the last seat for him. it goes all the way to a booster seat. Plus I liked it cuz we didn't have to buy a rear facing to get us through til he was a bit bigger then buy another one.

i have a convertible seat as well it was a p[resent but they sell them at target cheap but they are good quality. i think in these days that anyone that you pick will be a good one because they have to be inspected to make sure that they are good enough for precious cargo

I don't remember the brand I had when my girls were babies but it was awesome. What I liked about it the most was being able to adjust the straps with ease. One day they would need a coat and the next was just jacket weather.

we have 2 convertible seats (safety first and eddie bauer) that we had with our older son and we've been very happy with them. the safety first is the alpha omega and it has a very easy shoulder adjustment feature that is nice. You don't have to take out the seat to raise the shoulder harnesses. I also like that both of them have a belt tightener that is accesible from the front, it makes adjusting for winter coats very simple.
