Have you tried naming him after either grandfathers? That is one thought! What about Maynard Meanor or William Blake Meanor or Blake Leyland Meanor or Peyton Andre Meanor sounds possible. What is the baby like for some names describe the child's demeanor too like Blythe. However there are books with baby names and their meanings check one of them out they were great when I was naming my son. I found out that Jerome was saint for translators so my son has three saints names Jerome John and Andrew these are in french but they mean the same.

Owen would sound better on a resume in my opinion. You need a name that will grow with the child.

I personally like the sound of Owen Lee. When my son was born we had a list of 4 or 5 names, and shortly after we had him, we looking at him and knew exactly what his name needed to be. good luck on making the decision!

When naming our first daughter, we spent hours making sure that we picked a name that noone in the family would assume we name her after. With our second daughter, my husband looked at the book, threw out a name, I switched them because I thought he wanted to name her after his mom, turned out he didn't think of it. His mom thought the name was after her mom (grandma). With our baby (who is 9) we picked a family name for a middle name.

I'd say look at the names, is there someone with the same name you'd like to honor or not honor in the family. Maybe there's someone with one of those names in history you'd like to honor or not honor.

As one mentioned, you could also look at the Bully aspect. Is one name less likely to be used against them later in life.

Let's not forget which one rolls off your tongue better, if you son is like almost all kids in the world, you'll be saying it alot.

Good Luck, I vote for........! LOL!

I really like the idea of waiting until he is born. I think once you have him in your arms and can feel his aura and his spirit your mother instincts will kick in and you will just...KNOW.

My concern would be with nicknames - would Peyton be called 'Pey"? I vote for Owen Lee Meador - it has a nice 'flow' to it.

I like both...they are both good names. i'm sure you'll be happy with either one when he comes. I had my heart set on Paige Elliot but hubby wanted a different middle name because "Elliot is a boys name." I picked Kylie as a middle name and it didnt flow right...I ended up with a Kylie Marie Johnson. lol

It is incredibly appropriate that I happened to see this post at this very moment! My grandfather, Owen Lee, passed away last night in his sleep. I've been so busy with my kids all day today that I haven't really had time to just sit and grieve. Your question made me think of all of the wonderful times I had with my grandpa growing up. He lived on a farm, and for 2 weeks every summer and 2 weeks every winter, we'd go to Arkansas and help out on the farm. We hauled hay, fed calves with a bottle, gathered eggs, and went hiking. He taught me so much about hard work and determination. He even potty-trained my older brother...in 1 week...just by letting him go to the bathroom outside on the farm!

Thank you for posting this with perfect timing. It would be an honor for his name to live on.

:) Amy

I believe you as his mother will know the very minute you lay eyes on your sweet baby boy...be patient and just see who he is when he is born. Until then sit back and relax.
