Yes,..I have two children, ages 7 and 4, SINGLE MOTHER, and I am ALSO looking to work from home, part time, right now. BUT, despite what a lot of people think,..I would like to find one that you do NOT have to PAY INTO IT to start. (What's the purpose of that??)

If ANYONE could help,..it would be GREATLY appreciated.

I started working for a company a few months ago that my friend has been working with for over 17 years.  It's a wellness company that you pretty much join as a member and if you enjoy the products, you just get paid to refer them out to your friends to try, it's completely risk free.  If you aren't satisfied you can return your product for your money back.  Plus, since you have little ones at home you might want to think about changing out all those toxic cleaning supplies for natural cleaning supplies...they work great!  If you or anyone is interested please email me @ andest103@yahoo.com , like I said, I'm getting paid to tell my friends how much I love their products, and once you try them you will too.  The cleaning supplies make cleaning so effortless, being a mom of two little girls, that is very important to me.

I noticed another post regarding online travel through ytb. I just would like to add this is a great company. My husband and I looked about a year ago for a way to get me home. We signe up with ytb. LOVE IT! We make great commission. I don't feel like I need to be a big/ high pressure salesman. Best of all I get to travel, and spend more time with me kiddos. Best of luck finding the right outlet for you.

Well, it looks like there are lots of options listed here for you. I think basically, you need to think about what you will enjoy, because it it's something you hate, it won't be any good for you. Good luck!

I just recieved some information about being a medical claims and billing specialist.  They offer a course that costs about $1000, then you can begin work from home--usually around $10 an hour.  I haven't checked into it that much yet to know how easy it is to get a job, or how legit the whole program is, but it sounds like a great opportunity for someone who wants to work from home and not do sales.  The program I was looking at is the US Career Institute, but I'm guessing there is a UK equivalent.

I haven't read all of the post from above but I will give u insite I have over the yrs of homebased businesses.  I was a director for Beauticontrol which someone mentioned above and I also did the travel thing and a few others.  The thing I found is that it is very stressful and is time consuming.  I also didnt like the fact that I was making other people rich.  I didnt like my Director and  am the reaon she got her mustang.

I actually buy things in bulk and sell n ebay!!  I make money for my family no one elses!!  I also do not have to talk any people into signing up!   U can do a search for auction sites that sell bulk items and buy from them and list individually on ebay!!  I make between 50 and 100 dollars a day on average!

I hope this helps!!  I didnt go threw any other company either I did it on my own.

Hi Melissa, Have you ever thought of Mystery Shopping. There are a lot of companies out there. I have been doing for a year now around my children's kinder and school times and now my youngest is starting school this year, I plan on taking on a lot more jobs. The best is you can take your kids with you and earn extra cash and freebies. You just fill out a survey at the end online. I make an easy extra $100 a week, but know some people doing it full time and earning $2000-$3000 a month.

When my kids were little I ran a day care in my home, but needed to get myself out of the house now & then. I love to cook, so I became a Pampered Chef kitchen consultant. I really enjoyed it and was able to set my own schedule as far as what evenings I was gone. BTW, I'm not trying to recruit you! I've been with Pampered Chef for 12 1/2 years. I was able to earn a trip for me & my husband for free to Montreal, and a partial family vacation, as well as lots of other stuff. Plus, it gave me some pretty good tax deductions. Now that my oldest is 21 & my youngest is almost 13, I really don't do very much with Pampered Chef any more. But when my kids were little, it brought in some extra income and I was able to get some "grown up" girl talk in to keep me sane! Hope you can find something you like!

Hello all, these posts are all great.  However, they are all in sales.  I'm wondering if anyone out there has any experience or info on technical jobs from home.  For example, I have a graduate degree in biology and have been working in a laboratory.  I have a 32 month old and a newborn and I do not want to return to the lab in a few months.  I am looking for opportunities to work in the science research field from home, whether it is writing reports or doing lab work from home (that can mailed, eg, in the air sciences) or any other contribution I can make from home.  Does anyone have any ideas?

Have you ever mentioned to a friend a great restaurant?  or recommended a good hairdresser?  a good movie?  How about recommending a product like shampoo or vitamins from a particular store?

I didn't think I wanted to do sales either.  I started using Advocare products to drop a few pounds, gain more energy and I needed some extra Calcium.  I felt great and people around me could see it.  When they asked, I told them.  Instead of recommending a product from a chain store, i recommended a product that they could buy from me.  I started earning a nice income.

The best thing, they got the same great results, started sharing, and started earning an income as well.

I love that I am in a business that changes people's lives.

I know a woman who was able to lose over 100 pounds, lower her blood pressure, control her diabetes and get off several of her prescription meds.  Another couple I know was on the verge of bankruptcy and now they are debt free and earning a comfortable income.

Many I know continue in their current jobs and are able to earn a comfortable income working flexible part time hours.

One of our VPs is a Rocket Scientist.  He has a wondeful story of how he got to where he is now, and would be thrilled to share it with you.

If you LOVE the products, you will naturally want to share them.

Take a look at my blog AdvocareTeresaInBeaumont.blogspot.com to see links for more info and see how the business opportunity and the products fit into my Family's life. Then contact me if you wuld like to know more.

I hope to hear from you, Teresa 409-350-8633

[deleted account]

I was introduced to Advocare just over 2 years ago.  I loved the products!  I was able to lose weight and get more from my exercise routine.  I gained more energy, my skin cleared up, my Husband started having the same success, even my 2 yo daughter benefitted from the kids' line of vitamins and supplements.

I signed up for the discount, but I did not plan on getting into the business side of it, until budget cuts sent me home from work.

I already had been sharing products with friends and family, and had earned a nice amout of extra income.  I decided to get more involved and now I am a work from home Mom. I have replaced my previous annual income and  I get to stay home and spend time with my Daughter and Husband and still can afford ballet, new shoes, lunches out and private school tuition.

check out my blog AdvocareTeresaInBeaumont.blogspot.com.

You will find some links there and see how Advocare fits into our Family life.

How do you like to get your information?  I can send you a magazine, show you a webinar, invite you on a conference call or just chat with you on the phone about your goals and see if this is a fit for you.

Advocare has been around for over 15 years.  The products are backed by a world class team of Drs and Scientists and NON paid Endorsers like Wes Welker, Drew Brees, Michael W Smith and hundreds more.

The products are excellent, even if you decide not to pursue the business.  I use Mary Kay, Pampered Chef, Creative Memories, etc to support my Mom friends.  But Advocare is my choice for my business.

I hope to hear from you, Teresa 409-350-8633

Hello to Valerie Thorpe,

As I've said to Melisa, try oDesk.com. There are many jobs there. You register for free. It doesn't pay hundreds or thousand of dollars but you get to choose different types of jobs, and yes, there are many research and data entry jobs. Some are short projects, ranging from 1 week to 3 or 6 months and some are ongoing, up to 1 year. You  also have a choice between hourly projects and fixed price projects. I can go on and on, just go and check it out. I have 6 kids and it has helped my family out tremendously. Good luck!

Hello,

I just started on oDesk.com and am finding it hard to get my first job.  I have many skills available and have taken many of the tests and completely set up my profile, yet I am finding it hard to get hired.  Can you please tell me what I could be doing better in order to appeal to employers there?  Any help you can provide would be appreciated!

Sincerely,

Melissa

Hi Melisa!

I'm Grace from the Philippines. I joined Circle of Moms just a few minutes ago and saw your post. I work at home and it has been a blessing to my family. I have 6 kids, 5 still going to school. Just go to oDesk.com and register for free. Just follow all the instructions. It's so easy. Don't be intimidated by the tests, they're easy, all are multiple choice. Of course, you choose which ones you want to take, depending on your skills or expertise. Some employers don't even consider test results, they just want to know what type of person you are, if you are the right person for the job.  If ever you fail a test, however, you can retake it after some time. If you want to know about the experiences of other oDesk providers, just go to the forum. Just ask the oDesk community anything you like and a lot of people will help you. Odesk has helped my family financially, and it has also helped me rediscover myself. I just started last October 2008 after 10 years of being away from the work force and I love it. I'm 41 now and it feels so good to know that people still hire me for my skills. Well, good luck! Keep me posted!

Hi, Abi!  I am a mother of 5 little ones (9, 8, 6, 4, 13 1/2 mths).  I have also been a spa consultant with BeautiControl for the past 3 years.  I love my job.  I set my own hours and work around my family's schedule (my husband owns his own business, too & his schedule is never a typical 9-5).  But what I love the most about being a spa consultant (besides the great money) is I teach women how to take care of themselves, feel & look good, and how to mangage stress.  I would love to talk to you more about it.  Feel free to check out by webpage at www.beautipage.com/amygarrison.  You can click on the opportunity button for more information.

Hi Melissa;

It seems that everyone here has a great suggestion for you. I am going to give you another, hope you don't mind.

I am a team manager for Tupperware. I am in Ontario Canada, but I believe it is a world wide company. Tupperware is a great investment, safe for your family's food storage, and it will save everyone money. It is also virtually warrantied for life. My website is www.my.tupperware.ca/kelwin. Please check it out and let me know what you think.

I also sell Avon, and recently joined a company called CLOSE TO MY HEART-this is scrapbooking and stamping. I just joined this company, because I wanted a new hobby, and it made sense to become a consultant...that way I can get all my goodies for a discount and offer it to friends/family as well.

Hope this helps...

I have a home business with a legitimate company as well. I know there are a lot of things out there that promise thousands of dollars with just one or two hours of work and so on. Most likely those things do prove to be scams. What if I could show you a company that made total sense for you and your family, that could save you time and money, and help you get the income you are wanting all while working around your families schedule? What if I told you it was recession proof and that there is no risk? And what if there was a wonderful team of leaders to help you every step of the way? Does this sound like something for you? Well that is the company I am with and I would be glad to get you the complete details as well so you can make an educated decision as to whether this is right for you. Just give me a call at 608-524-3441 or email me at kakjmk@yahoo.com. I will be glad to help you.

Hi Melissa - I stay home with my three kids and homeschool. If you are interested in healthy and safe products for your family and can find just 10 hours a week, Arbonne may be a fun fit for you. I keep to 10 hours a week and earn full-time income. It's so incredible, but I'm finding that people are looking for natural products. Check out this site and if your interested I'd love to chat with you - even on the phone. www.jennbenton.myarbonne.com.

I can highly recommend doing Avon (although do it all above board and go self employed).  I earnt a lot of money doing Avon and can fit it around sleeps and nursery.  There's only a £25 set up fee (this was a couple of years ago) and all you do is deliver the catalogues and pick them up.  If you throw yourself into it and treat it as work you can become very successful at it.  I used to earn about £80 to £90 every three weeks and I wasn't even trying and didn't have a good area.  When it came to Christmas I was earning near to £200 every three weeks.  Hope you find something that suits you.  Good luck

I was in your positing a few years ago.  Got laid off from my full time job, and went and got my real estate license.  It is a very flexible, rewarding job.  You make your own hours, and make good money.  You make it what you want it to be.

I also am doing some bookkeeping from home for an auto mechanic's shop. Keep looking, if you are persistent with what you want, it will come.
