My family Dr is the same way. When i call to make an appointment i tell the receptionist i will need about 40 minutes of time at least if it's for something big like information on something. When i was in high school i had an appointment for a pap test and at the end she asked if i had any concerns or questions and i started crying saying i was very depressed and she told me she didn't have time for that at the moment so i had to make another appointment! WTF!!! My appointment wasn't able to be made for 3 weeks and i only got about 10 minutes to talk to her. I was so mad. She's getting better now though becuase i'm pushy too lol

lol i will ask about all the options when i go but the opinions on here are nice cuz my doctor is a moron, he trys to get through the appointment as fast as possible leaving verry little time for me to get a word in, so i have to be exremly pushy

Yes an IUD isn't for everyone, none of the women in my family can use them due to sever cramping and then the body rejects it. I have not personally gotten one for this reason so i didn't want to waste my money to be in more pain then i was before i had surgery(i have endometriosis) and i was on depo. I liked the depo BUT i found i gained too much weight on it. Some don't gain weight at all so that too in an option. Talk to your Dr about ALL options for you and make sure you go with lost of questions for each type:) My obgyn is great and answered all my questions before i decided to go back on the pill i was on since i was 12 for bad cramps lol...that was a waste of a lecture lol.

i agree with tegan.....the nuvaring was wonderful i loved it, but unfortunately, my body still rejected it....my body doesnt like any form of birth control......i wouldnt recomend getting the IUD.....so many girls (including me) had soooo many problems with it. for me it loged into my uterus, so i would try the nuva ring.....i liked it.

I hear ya Candice loud and clear! It is impossible to remember those damn things. I agree try the nova ring or get an iud placed in. If you don't wish to have more kids...and i assume you only have one so you do want more, but if not then look in to the essure procedure. I plan on getting it done within the next 3 years...but we're waiting that long just to make sure we're done lol

I've used the patch before...you leave each one on a week at a time, and then don't wear one for a week so you'll have your period and start over again. Maybe you should talk to your doctor about it?????!!!!

I suggest the NuvaRing. You insert it once a month and then take it out so you can have your period. I have been on it for years and love it because you don't have to remember to take a pill everyday! It also didn't give me some of the side effects of regular birth control because it is a lower dose of hormones, since they don't have to travel through your entire system. Don't worry, you can't even tell it's in there, and I've never had one come out accidentally! Its great.

I just wanted to add that I had to try a few pills for different hormone combinations after having my daughter. i went back to the pill I was on before getting pregnant, but it no longer worked for me and I to was getting my period every 2 weeks. Your dr will definately prescribe you something else, hopefully it will work.

I agree that the pill screws up your cycle when you miss a few. Did you start retaking them once you forgot and then forgot again or have you not been on it for a while. When i was on the pill last year my cycles were so messed up i stopped taking them for one cycle so i could get a normal period and then start again...i got pregnant lol. My daughter was born in July of 09 and i had a normal period the next month and the following month, then in october i went 5 weeks before getting one same with november. The in December it was 6.5 weeks. In october we did a test jsut to make sure when i was 3 days late and it was positive but then they were all negative. I had blood work done last week to make sure i wasn't pregnant and have filled a perscription for BC so make sure before you go on anything you aren't pregnant. My friend is due with ehr second child next week and she had periods every month and she found out when she was 5 months in. She said they weren't normal periods now that she looks back but even with one week left she still gets bleeding. I'm sure you aren' pregnant but it's better to be safe then sorry:)

It sounds like the by forgetting to take your pill it has screwed up your cycle but still it shouldn't be that messed up. I would definitely speak to your Dr. about this as soon as you go. And I think that you are correct to speak to them about finding a birth control that is best for you since you have a hard remembering to take the pill. I hope that this is helpful.
