When my daughter was about 2 months old I had to start a medication that was vital to my health, it was not good for her and being excreted through my breast milk I had to stop breastfeeding. The medication is now out of my system and I would like to resume nursing. My daughter is now 7 months old and I can still express colostrum. What do you think my chances are of being able to build up my milk supply?

have u had any luck yet?? I am currently trying to start breastfeeding my daughter again after stopping in September, I am just using the pump right now and then plan to put it into her bottle for her because I cant get her to latch back on.

You can find some great information on relactating on www.kellymom.com and http://www.llli.org/
I helped my cousin's wife relactate so it can be done. It does take some effort but you can do it!!! Oatmeal is great for boosting supply but make sure you get her on the breast as often as possible because stimulation is the most important part of relactating!! GOOD LUCK!!!

It is possible to build up a supply but it would take alot of time and effort for the first few weeks. Breastmilk has many benefits but don't feel bad if your body doesn't allow the milk supply to adjust properly. I'm sure your little girly is doing just fine on her formula. Best of luck!
