Ok, so this isn't exactly a parenting question- but I figured there would be lots of moms with experience to share...

I'm going to be hosting a book party at my house (Usborne) and am looking for creative ideas of what I can do for my guests (and the presenter) to make it more fun/memorable etc. What have others done at home parties that you liked? I'm thinking of keeping the "book" theme but can certainly adapt ideas from everywhere (Tupperware, Pampered Chef, etc) It's going to be a bunch of moms in attendance so I want to make it a fun night out for them! (We know how rare they can be!)

Please share your creativity! Thanks!!!

Quoting Bethany:

A book party sounds like fun...I've never been to one, but, as an Arbonne consultant, I have done many parties and I've found that good food, wine, and good conversation makes for a great evening out!! Personally just getting out of the house and have adult conversation makes me so happy. Another great idea is to have ice breaker questions to get people talking if they don't all know each other. Hope this was helpful :)

Ok, this gives me another idea....

A blank journal (which is a book, right?!), where everyone has to write a random sentence and then the next person has to write a sentence to go with that one, until there is a short story (that will probably make no sense but will be funny - especially if the wine is already flowing).

Oooohh...I want to go to a book party!!  :)  I'm thinking bookmarks for decoration/prizes/place cards?  You could make some really fun ones for cheap if you're feeling crafty.  If they're all close friends you could put on their bookmark things you love about them or how they inspire you.  You could also all create profiles on www.goodreads.com from your home computer and "friend" each other after the formal presentation.
