your welcome!! yep it's only 2 shots. i've always had to get the second shot cause all my babies had positive blood, but if it ends up being that your baby has negative blood type, then they don't necessarily give you another one after the baby is born. so if that's the case you'll only get one when you are 28 weeks preg.

No, I didn't have to get this shot, but a friend of mine had this shot with all 4 of her pregs and all 4 children are healthy and have no signs of any further issues. I think the oldest is 8 and the youngest is 4. Of course you're gonna worry, but it really isn't that bad, think of all the things that could be wrong and if this is it, you're in the clear. DON'T go reading up on the net about all this stuff either, cuz everyone has a 'horrior story" and you don't need to be filling your already worried head. Talk to your doc and if you want too look on the net, I use babycentre.ca. It's by johnson and johnson and I find thier info relieable. Best of luck

hi billie jo, i have 0- and my babies father was a+ as well. while i didn't have high blood pressure until i had my last one, i feel i can help with your worry about the RH factor that you're referring to. as long as you get your shot of rhogam (sp?) i think it's at 28 weeks , and you get it after your child is born then you should have no problems. the worry is that your baby may have a positive blood type and since you have a neg. blood type your body may mistake your child as a foreign object and begin to attack it, and lead to loss of pregnancy or problems with the child like anemia, jaundice, edema, enlargement of liver or spleen and diffficulty breathing. but take in mind as long as you get your shots of rhogam during and after pregnancy, your baby, and future babies will be just fine. it's a VERY preventable illness. no need to worry at all!! good luck, and have fun with your pregnancy!

My sister in law had this problem, she never had any miscarrages, she just had to get a shot to keep from getting a miscarrage.

I wouldn't worry about it too much. My blood is A- and my kids father was A+, the dr. told me the same thing but there is a shot of rogham(not sure on spelling) they give you at 28 weeks and again within the first 72 hours of having the baby ( if baby turns out to be a + blood type) The shot basically stops the 2 blood types from mixing, it doesn't hurt the baby at all and their are no known side affects to you.
Hope this helps. xoxo Good luck!!

I think thier is some sort of shot that you take when the mom's and dad's blood types are this combo. I know a few mom's that have had to have the shot and now have healthy children. I know it's hard not too worry, but our body's can do amazing things and whatever Nature can't take care of, The meds and research that is being done is so helpful.. You take care of yourself and just keep in mind that thier are way more healthy babies born, then not and the odds are in your favour. Best of luck
