Im 21 weeks and i havnt felt my baby move

It could very simply be that your placenta is placed more in the front and when baby kicks or moves the placenta is acting as a shield and absorbing all the movement without you being able to feel it.

You can ask your GP/OB/Midwife about the placement from your ultrasound. You could also ask them to hear the baby's heartbeat if that would make you feel better too ;)

I didnt feel my baby move until I was about 26-28 weeks. Then it seemed to move all the time after that!

dont worry i didnt feel my first child kick till around 25 weeks, but i felt my second around 18

Sorry for your loss Puja♥ i can understand your concern and worry this time around, but try your best to relax,i know thats easier said than done.Try to stay positive and speak to your doctor to put your mind at ease.

My second pregnancy she never gave strong movement and i was brought in because she wasnt moving at all when the checked my tummy and did a fetal trace.,but shes now 16 mths old a healthy baby girl so stay positive.I pray you have a healthy pregnancy and you have a wonderful healthy baby to love and cherish.♥

I didn't feel my son move until closer to 26 weeks. He was never an active baby. I rarely felt him move and I worried about it all the time. Every once in a while I felt a rolling sensation (or a few times he had hiccups) but he never kicked me. Hearing his heartbeat at the OB was the only thing that gave me piece of mind. Then he was born and was almost 10 pounds and I realized that he never had the room to move. LOL

Well, 20 weeks is still a bit early to be feeling any movement for a first time mom. Usually "quickening", which are the first fluttering movements, is usually felt between 13-25 weeks. For a first time mom, its usually closer to 25 weeks. So don't worry!!! I'm sure your baby is perfectly healthy!!! Good luck to you and your beautiful baby! =)

Is this your first pregnancy?? If it is its difficult to distinguish babies movements from all the other bodily goings on inside such as gas etc as you don't exactly know what the babies movements feel like, im currently 19 weeks with my fourth and have felt he/she moving from around 14 weeks!! Once you feel it you never forget it lol It is an amazing feeling, but if you are worried then consult your midwife or someone likewise and i'm sure they will hook you up to a monitor for a short period of time just to put your mind at rest and maybe even help you with what to feel out for!!

If you are worried go and see your doc, that way you can ease your worries. Sometimes it also depends on where your placenta is. Mine was up front so I didn't feel as much movement. The amount of fluid too. I had 15 % more then the "normal" pregs. If I were you I'd go see your doc for your sake too ease your worries.

I wouldnt worry unless you get to 30 weeks and havent felt anything, then I would dicsuss it with your midwife. I didnt feel anything with my first until about 20 weeks and im 18weeks pregnant with my second and I havent felt anything. Its normal. It is nice to feel the baby move for your peace of mind, but try to stay relaxed about it. It is moving its just you cant feel it yet.

hey thanks for all your input, this is my second child my first child kicked alot at 20 to 25 weeks. my baby was premature and passed away. and thats why im so scard this time around.

Puja you probably have felt the baby move and just haven't realized that is what it was. My first pregnacy was with my daughter and she moved very gently. I felt her hiccups better than I felt her actually moving. Only when she kicked my ribs or pushed her foot outwards hard, could you feel her. As your baby gets bigger and more crowded, the movements will become more defined. That elusive "flutter" will become kicks and swoshes and maybe even hiccups.

I never really felt my son move throughout the whole pregnancy. The placenta was on the front so that blocked 99% of his movement. I occasionally had a flutter at the top left, but that wasn't untill 25-28wks.

Being able to feel your baby move often has something to do with the placement of the placenta. If the placenta is at the front then you will feel your baby move later than if its at the bottom or back. As long as you have gone to your appointments and the doc can hear a heartbeat there is nothing to worry about.

I didn't feel my baby until round 25 weeks, as long as everything is ok at your check ups you should be fine. Your Dr. should be asking if you feel anything each time you go in and if they are concerned they will check you out. It is hard to wait especially when all the other preggos you know are feeling their baby, but you'll feel it soon.

Hi I'm 4foot 11 and i was 8and a half stone when i got preg and by 5 months was a little under 8stone i never felt her move until after 6 months and she was never a hard or active mover all the way through but for your peace of mind as i did i went to my doctor and the had a listen to her she was okay and okay on scan.I had my first scan at 19weeks which i wasnt happy about a bit long to wait i think.She was perfectly okay shes 15 mths today:-)My first was so active kicked like a donkey lol she even gave me bruised ribs.There all so different.

Have you seen your doctor for your monthly visit? If you have and he/she said baby is doing o.k. dont worry to much. When I was pregnant with my last son, he didn't move awhole lot in the beginning either. My partner said he would move at night alot of course when I was sleeping and I couldn't feel it. And YES if your carry large you dont feel awhole lot. If your like me, I had a big bag of water around the baby and that does have effect on your feeling the movement. Good luck!

Do you get what feels like an upset tummy or like you have butterflys in there thats the baby moving if you do also some babys just arnt very active mine where never active till late at night when i was sleeping and if it is worrying you speak to your doctor....dont stress yourself about it and you cant compare your pregnancy to others as each one is different :)........ and since your small baby might be snug in there as your small so not as much room to move around baby maybe in the position its going to stay in......but please if its really worrying you go to see your doctor no stress is best for you and baby ....cheers Chelle :)

Call your local hospital and ask for the labor and delivery ward. They will most likely instruct you to come in to be hooked up to make sure everything is fine. I couldn't feel my first child in the last few weeks and had to go in to be hooked up but it was just because he was in a different position. The charts were all over the place but i couldn't feel a thing.

Ag no man! There is nothing to be worried about! Surely you've gone to your gynae at your 20 week check-up, if everything is fine, then don't stress so much! With my first, I read and was told by my gynae that its usually around 5 and a half months to 6 months that you feel them move. Now with my second, I feel movements a lot earlier because I know what to look for. Everyone is different. And the whole thing with being big or small means nothing, with all woman, our uterus grows the same. (except if its your second or more pregnancy). So even if you are small or large, you'll still feel your baby move relatively at the same time.

Once you've made out the movements and gotten to the stage where you can tell the amount of movement you should be having, then you will be able to make out if there is a problem.
