I went to the toilet this morning and then when I came back to the bedroom I felt a warm gush and my knickers were soaked.

It smelt like Urine and it hasnt happend again.

Would I be going into Pre-Term Labour? Or was it simply just me weeing myself?

Thank you!

There is a simple test they do to determine if it is amniotic fluid or not. Don't hesitate, call your doctor right away!

Yeah get it checked! my water broke, just a litte when I was 34 weeks and 5 days along. I knew it wasn't urine because it was bloody. My water broke 4 times before they finally took her by emergency c-section...always better to be safe then sorry

Definitely get it checked by your doctor, even if it's only to rule out a rupture of your membranes. My friend started leaking amniotic fluid at about the same stage in her pregnancy and she managed to make it to 37 weeks, but had to be VERY careful. She was told no lifting, baths, swimming pools or sex due to the risk of infection.

chances are it is probably not amniotic fluid because it doesn't smell like urine at all, when you are quite far along in your pregnancy you can often pee a little it without even needing to go to the toilet and it can be quite involuntary it's because of all the pressure that the baby is putting on your bladder, you need to start doing pelvic floor excersise all the time and you need to also continue to do them after you have had the baby otherwise they will get really weak and you will have bladder trouble, if you still worried I would go to the maternity ward at your local hospital just so they can check you out, but I don't think you have anything to worry about I'm sure you will be fine. Goodluck with everything.

Hey Tanya

My waters broke at 31 wks with my 2nd child - and against odds, he stayed inside for another 6 weeks. I went to the hospital - and they told me that I my membranes had ruptured and to expect the baby within the week. They gave me injections to strengthen his lungs (steroids) and I had to shower multiple times during the day. They monitored me and it was a case of no matter what I did - the tear was there - I would have nothing - then suddenly a gush. I was in maternity pads for weeks. Go to the hospital to be sure. They can do a very simple test which will tell you if its amniotic fluid or not. Plus they'll do some scans to see how much water you have. It constantly regenerates itself - so don't stress too much ok. Just go get checked and see what they say. Best of luck and I hope everything works out.

Hi Tanya, Congratulations on your pregnancy. Rather be safe than sorry and go get it checked out. If you are leaking then they might have to deliver baby early bec a break in the sack can lead to infection or worse if you don't have it checked out. If it was that you just wee'd then you could have a good giggle about it, but if not then at least you know your gynae can do something to ensure both you and baby are fine. Hope all turns out well and that you just land up having a good giggle. Good luck for the next 10weeks.xxx
