Hi,
My son was dx'd w/ type 1 when he was 8,in 2001
He has a long "honeymoon" period.
The dose (like sliding scales) do get easier.
Counting carbs gets easier.
Managing there BG gets harder when puberty comes tho...
Let me know if you want to talk :)
How old is your child?

My son Gavin is 8 years old. He was diagnosed in Sept. 2009 with Type 1...so this is still a bit new to us too....but I gotta tell you I feel like an expert compared to how helpless and overwhelmed I felt when he was diagnosed. It gets better!!! Checking blood and giving shots has become like brushing teeth and getting dressed. I really want to help you and be here for you because I didnt have anyone when my son was diagnosed...I didnt even know about circle of Moms back then....So I can help answer your question better if you let me know what you are struggling with at this moment. Please keep in touch. Im here;) God Bless Sara
