I had the implanon implant put in 4 weeks ago and was told not to have unproective sex for 24 hrs, which i didnt and then after that we assumed we were fine and in the heat of the moment, yeh anyways. It has been 4 weeks and we have been intimate since then also but i was due for my period 4 days ago (dr told me i would still get a few periods for the first few months). I have had ver very ver light spotting only when i go to the bathroom not even enough to require a pad but- sorry for the details its very watery and brown. So im freaking thinking what if im pregnant and tht is the spotting from the egg implanting? iv heard that when you are pregnant you can get spotting when your period is due for the first month or so. I had this with my daughter - light spotting for the first month. I have been more tired, wanting more water and gone off food like my first pregnancy arrgggghhhh too scared to take a test. should i be worried or has anyone else been on the implanon and didnt get a their period any more?

I have been on the Implanon for a little over a year, and it is extremely frustrating. I have had several times where I have thought I was pregnant. The spotting is normal sometimes you will go 2,3, even 4 months without a period then bam you will get it and I have had mine for up to 3 weeks the bleeding and spotting, there was a point where I spotted a little over a month it is so frustrating I have debated on having it taken out but its expensive and it was uncomfortable having it put in. But as far as pregnancy it is extremely rare, infact you have a better chance of getting pregnant with your tubes tied than on Implanon. I have took atleast 10 pregnancy tests since being on Implanon all have been negative, but I have hears other stories of women including myself actually feeling pregnant...it makes me feel crazy sometimes lol but it is highly effective and I doubt you are pregnant.

Thank you Sarah- the doctor who put it in didn't really go through it with me at all, he gave me a pamphlet to read but thats not always as reassuring. Ok im glad you have mentioned about the watery brown blood discharge as the doctor said to me i would actually get a proper but maybe just lighter period for the first couple of months until my body gets used to it all so that is where i got concerned as i had the spotting when i was first pregnant with my daughter and thought hey- i seem to always b that rare percent chance with everything lol so it wouldn't surprise me if it was with this too. Thankgoodness for that- THANKYOU sooooo much, such a relief phewwwww i can stop stressing. I was going to buy a pregnancy test i dont want anyone to know and havnt had any time to run up by myself to the shops an get one secretly. Never mind thanks again and thankyou also lysha you were also very helpful

I've been on implanon for nearly 12 months and i haven't had a period since it was put in!! Implanon is a very effective form of contraception and has a failure rate of 0.01 in every 100...basically that means its incredibly rare that you would be pregnant. spotting is normal with implanon in the first few months. repeat after me Implanon is supposed to stop your period, its a hormone blocker. the tiredness and wanting more water and going off your food is normal for a hormonal change. I got a watery brown discharge too for the first 5 months but this seems to of stopped.

I have never had that, not even a bit of bleeding and have never been on that birth control BUT, if it may be a possibility, I'd suggest taking a pregnancy to ease your mind. if you're not pregnant, at lest yu can rest assured and not have to be wondering about it. If you are, well then, you are and it's time to start planning for the new addition. Either way, you get the terrible fear of the unknown to go away!!
