Me and my hubby can not agree on anything!! I dont like really common or older names ie. Mathew, Justin ect.. and I dont like names that sound like a colored persons name ie. DeAngelo, Tyrone ect.. My favorite names are Jace, Landon, Carter, Carson, & Jaden... but my husband dosent like any! can someone please throw out a few new ones so we can find one we agree on?

I had a similar debate with my other half. We sorted it by choosing names of men we would like our children to be like (good role models), looking at name meanings, using "family" names as middle names only, and having a top 5 - then using the name that most suited the baby. Play with spellings to make then individual, and remeber you are naming a baby, a teenager an old man etc! Good Luck

COME ON MOM'S , LET IT GO. SHE'S HAVING A BABY, IF YOU DON'T LIKE WHAT SHE SAYS THEN DON'T BOTHER RESPONDING. WHAT'S THE USE IN GETTING MAD AT A PERSON YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW.

Your first mistake is tryihg to classify names with nationalities, Colored is a crayon name a person. Names are names, Old names are back. Maybe you should name your child Christian and he will have a chance in life.

I like Kyden (Ky-den), we named our son that and most people end up miss pronouncing it and calling him Kaden which is a drawback. We call him KY for short

Lakeesha-I don't think she meant it as a "racist" name. There are names that emply a certain ethnicity. Latino, Indian, Japanese, etc. And names that originate from certain areas and countries. To get upset over a name choice, you would have to get upset over all the other ethnic name choices too. You are not being singled out. She wants a name that goes with her own heritage, her own ethnicity. There's nothing wrong with that. How else would you have like her to ask that she wants a more specific name?
Krista- consider mixing names you like with your husband...This is an older name but I knew a Paul and a Lena and they named their daughter Paulena. Or consider picking first name and him picking middle, vice versa. I think Tristan Jasper sounds awesome! Very similar to your own. : )
Good luck,
From: a mixed culture girl

@ Crystal
How did you take that as being rasist?? She was simply pointing out that she doesnt prefer a black-cultured name. Take that as how she meant it, and get off your high horse!

I know we are in the same boat. Tried family names...not working....so we have asked several friends and looked at several apps and websites...then I wrote a list of names that I liked and my husband wrote down his list and we are down to only a few names now that we agree on. One of them may be used for the first name and the other name we agree on for his middle name.
Hope this helps.

I like the ones you picked! But since hubby doesn't, how about Mason, Cannon, Silas, or Fisher. Those were all on my short list when my son was born. However, since my last name is Italian, the name Luca won out. (Leo and Milo were close second for Italian names.)

My hubby and I were the same way, we didn't want anything common, but we couldn't agree on any thing either. so when we found out we were having a boy we finally found an uncommon but great name, Brice. We lost him when I was 6 mths. pregnant and that was the name that we buried him with, Brice Tanner, and now we have a son and we named him Tanner. Hope this helps:)
