I have a 16 month old daughter, that doesn't speak, she babbles. She say mamama, and dadada but that is it. She doesn't point or gesture to what she wants. She is delayed in her communication skills, she doesn't really communicate with myself or her father. If she want you to move she will push you out of the way, or move your leg or foot if it is interfering when she is walking. She really doesn't play with her toys correctly. She is also delayed in her fine motor skills. However she runs, climbs, she is very active. She never wants help, she would rather do it herself. She does have some red flags for Autism. She doesn't really show affection. She has waved a hand full of times. She has also clapped a hand full of times but that is it. Her eye contact is good. However She doesn't follow one step direction at all. Early Intervention had elvaulated her and she is able to recieve services from them. We are still waiting on the report to back from them. Has anyone gone through this, I'm so worry she will never talk. Does anyone know of any good books that are helpful with delayed children?
