also i ate alot of steak and green veg and i mean alot!!
theres lots of food wiv iron in hav look on google, also tea and coffee stop the iron absorbing, i used 2 drink fresh orange juice which helps the iron absorb.
hope this helped a bit!!

Simply put, the iron in blood is what makes the oxygen travel. Without it, you will be weak, breathless and tired. Normally I would advocate eating red meat and citrus, but yours is extremely low. Take the iron tablets. THeres some you can get now that do not make you constipated. THeyre worth a try. Good luck!

Dangerous because Lack of iron causes your blood to be watery and you will lose more iron with blood loss after delivery. In the past i had to have iron injections as it was the best way to bring my iron up to level. I had my fourth child 11 weeks ago and was told to take iron for 3 months after delivery and have it checked again.

Iron is important as without enough you will be tired and you immune system can suffer, I would say that its better late than never to start an iron supplement, what did the midwife suggest you try? I was sightly low in iron while pregnant and my ob told me to take pregnancy multi vitamins until I stop breast feeding, also try and eat lots of iron rich foods (do a search on google and you will find lists of these) One important thing to know is that too much iron can be very toxic, so I wouldnt self diagnose yourself and take double the tablets or anything, I would suggest you make an appointment with your doctor first thing and discuss with him exactly how many mg of iron you need to consume each day.
