I have had a really difficult time finding work after my daughter was born. I was working part time before and so I am looking for full time now so going back to my last job is not logical...

I feel for all of you that are having a tough time. I work from home and am able to stay home with my kids. I did think about child care at one point. You really have to look at your states regulations though. Some times it just takes too much to get all the things you need. Then you have the fact that yes you are home with your child but how much time are you really spending with your own kids and what would you do if your kids get sick? Not trying to discourrage just through out the thoughts I had.

Im in HR and for each job i post i get about 300-500 resumes. Its brutal. I would suggest taking a good look at your resume and making sure that it is everything that it should be. I did an open call a few days ago and a lovely girl walked in who i immediately passed on based on her resume. I told her that she doesn't have the experience... luckily 10 min later she came back and sat with me and told me 10 very important things that she neglected to put on her resume. the point is that she was hired but if i had just looked at the resume i would never have called her. She was telling me that she was not getting any calls back, and how she didnt even think to take a look at the resume. if you would like email me and ill take a look at it. maybe i can help in some way. good luck!

Not only are we in a bad economy, but it's hard when you have kids, especally when you don't have a sitter. Take whatever you can get at this point, and just keep looking for something better. Have you tried a temp agency?

Have you considered taking kids in? I don't know about in your area, but where I live, there is a real lack of child-care providers, especially ones who are willing to take children under the age of 18 months. If you think you could handle it, you could take in a couple of extra kids. Then you wouldn't have to pay for childcare for your daughter, plus you'd be making a few hundred extra per week.

Ladies, this thread is not an invitation for anyone to post their business opportunities. I have already deleted some posts that have done this (and blocked the posters). If you are feeling tempted to post your business opportunity ANYWHERE in this community, I STRONGLY SUGGEST you read the pinned post on our Zero Tolerance Policy. You post it, we find it, it gets deleted AND you get blocked.

The OP of the post is looking for genuine assistance, and this does not include every man and their dog promoting their at-home business opportunity.

Thank you

Hi yes i did to with having my second child, i looked for things to do from home that would allow me to work around a schedule and there wasnt much out there.. so i decided to come on board with a financial services firm on a part time basis Which allowed me to control my time and hours .So i worked around my hubby s and kids schedule and when i was pregnant with our last child i was able to work at the office or home office which was very conveninent.

I"m not looking forward to going back to work. Two reasons, where I do have employment I cannot physically do it anymore, when I was pregnant there were so many restrictions they custom fit my position for me, and then there is the job market. My husband has been laid off since the day our son was born so because of our local economy there are not alot of jobs out there at the moment. I've already promised my friend daycare and that will be her income for the next few years to supplement her until her youngest is older * she's also autistic, so I really need to find a job close to home and one that I can handle.

Ya it's hard for me to find one that fits our shcedule. my husband works days and afternoons, and I really only want to work somewhere where I can work during the day. I don't want to miss putting my daughter to sleep every night by working an afternoon shift. There is just not a lot out there. That and I really don't want to go back to work. I want to stay home with her, but financially, it's just not realistic.

Yes!! I hard a really hard time. I had to go back when my son was 6 weeks. I was still breastfeeding so I went to his daycare durning lunch and fed him. Of course I also pumped but just having that time with him during my work day was wonderful.
