My son just turned 5 years in October and he is totally potty trained during the day but at night he keeps wetting his bed. I tried night time diapers, all of them. then I decided to wake him up at a certain hour during the night but he would get so upset that he would make a whole drama about it. The comotion would wake up my husband and we would all be tired the next day. I am so tired for the lack of sleep and he still bedwets. Help someone! I don't want this to be a problem when he is older. Thanks! Betty. and by the way he is an only child.

I have a daughter that just turned 5 and was having accidents until I stopped allowing her to drink anything an hour before bed. Then I would bring her to the bathroom before bed and keep BIG kid under wear on. A therepist said that it maybe from wearing a pull up as to why she continued to wet the bed. I purchased some "potty mat" is what I call it from the local medical supply store..they were like $20 a piece. It protects the mattress from being soiled and they are machine washable. Then in the mornings get her up and bring straight to the bathroom. Oh yeah we had to get a diffrerent light in the bathroom because the other night light wasn't bright enough. We went through this for 2 weeks and she stopped.

Take him to the bathroom on your way to bed instead of waking in the middle of the night. You just have to keep doing it consistently until it becomes routine. My nephew is also 5 1/2 and is just now able to go without his pull-up at night. My stepson was occasionally wetting the bed until he was 7 or 8.
