not sure about during preg, but i do know that honey (any type) is dangerous to children under the age of two due to the different types of bacteria in the honey that their immune system is not develpoed enough to counteract. I would assume if it is not okay to give to a small child, it would be shyed against during preg since it does go to your baby also.

Idn about honey, but maple syrup is fine and actually really good for you. It contains more calcium than milk. And whoever said "fresh or homemade" syrup isn't good is completely wrong. And you cant pasteurize syrup. Unless you're drinking sap you're good, considered syrup is boiled lol.

Nope its fine and actually can be useful if you can't poop! It can act as a diaretic and help your stool move. but everything in moderation :)

Yes. Just be careful with your overall diet as it affects you and your baby thereafter, too much sugar isn't good for you either; you don't want to end up with diabetes.

Honey and maple syrup are both OK during pregnancy, as long as it is pastuerized. Be sure to stay away from fresh honey from a farm or fresh homemade maple syrup, it hasn't been pasteurized. Hope this helps :)
