i have had 2 children my eldest is now 15 and youngest just turned 4. i thought it wud b harder 2nd time after such a big gap (11 yrs) but even tho both labours had similarities the 2nd was a lot easier xx i was induced both times (1st as was 11 days over) and (2nd time 9 days early) my waters were broken both times, i was in labour for13 hrs 1st time and only afew hrs 2nd time in fact midwife only just had time 2 put gloves on for delivery, as someone else said tho u r more prepared for wot will happen the 2nd time so ur body is generally more relaxed and so is your mind every pregnancy and labour is different but try to enjoy the experience of becoming a new mummy again xxx take care and remember try to relax in2 it tc xxx

For me yes! But one thing that no ever told me about was how worse the cramping is after you give birth to your second child. Also just another heads up. It is harder to control your bladder the second time. I do not mean to scare you. But just thought I would let you in on all the things that I was surprised by when I gave birth to my second child. The labor was faster and easier for the second time and I has a natural birth. Good luck!

It was for me but I was just talking with a woman Friday and she said that each of her deliveries was more difficult than the last (she's getting ready to have her 4th child any day).

I have had three children my first and second were very similar. Long labor and hours of pushing it would have been misery except for my epidural thank goodness for that. My third came VERY fast. Contractions were hard and on top of each other it is still hard for me to believe but I went from four to seven in thirty minutes. She came so fast there was no time for an epidural. It was not fun but luckily it was pretty quick!

i only have 1 child now, but i've heard that it gets easier. and my sister told me that her first was easiest, she didn't make it to the hospital early enough for the drugs for either of her childrens births, but the second gave her back labor, which she told me was worse. so i guess it all depends on the person and the situation.

My first labor was worst, I think it's partially because i was induced and really not prepared for the contractions, I labored for 19 hours. My 2nd I labored at home for quite a while and was a 7 by the time I got to the hospital, it went so much smoother. My third was only 6 hours of labor and the nurse had to catch her because she wasnt' going to wait for the dr.

No matter what labor is hard and everyone is different. But with my second I would say it was easier because I wasnt in labor as long and i only push like 4 times and he was born haha.. With my first I was in labor from 3pm and didnt have him until 5am.. But good luck :)

Hell yes! I've had 7. (Unless you are unluky to be one of those women with complications)
If you are a healthy young woman, you should have no troubles. However, always consult yr doctor if you have concerns.

I had a c section the first time (I hated that). Second one was a vbac (wonderful). I think the second time you're more mentally prepared and there's not so many unknowns. Much better experience. But as others have said every birth is different.

my second was easier because my son was smaller and they were only 15 months apart. However, my third was harder because the baby was bigger and it had been 7 years. I'm hoping my 4th will be easier because it's only been two years since number 3. :) each pregnancy and labor is different

It was much easier the 2nd time, as I wasn't so scared of the unexpected and my birthing class ideas helped a lot the 2nd time. I had natural childbirth after a c-section. I recommend the latter.

It just depends on alot of things. All births are different. If you have a good doctor and nurses then everything should go smoothly. For my last one it was the first time my epidural didn't work, and as crazy as it sounds I actually felt better and healed up faster then I had with my first three.

The second time was easier for me. I had them both naturally with out drugs but the first time 27 hours , 2nd time 14 hours. First time I had to push for 3 hours, 2nd time was only 2 pushes. I think I knew what was happening the second time . I also think that I fought the contractions the first time and tried to relax more and let things happen the second time around ( cause i now knew i'd survive them ( the first time not so sure Lol) Good luck and I hope you have a quick and easy delivery!!!!

The second was a lot easier for me and my OB told me that in general it is like that for a few reasons - first, because you know more what to expect. Second, because your body has gone through it once before. In my case, I was in labor for over 20 hours with my first and pushed for 3.5 hours. The second labor was much shorter and I pushed for 20 minutes! And my second was bigger than my first :)

Well I think it depends on the pregnancy. For me the second time was easier cause you know what to expect. It's a lot less stressful and less scary.

I've had 4 children and i think every labour is different, but atleast you know what to expect with your 2nd.takecare.

For me the first one was REAL tough! Labor was 36hrs from start to finish w/no sleep and no food...that was rough! I was induced part way through and it did no good...his clock was obviously from a different time zone! I also had to have an episiotomy...and 4 hrs straight pushing, ugh...The 2nd one I was scheduled an induction (which i was real hesitant about) and was admitted @ 7am, water manually ruptured @ 8a, given progesterone (sp?) @ 9a, started having painful contractions @ 10, got epidural @ 11, @ 12:45p I was dialated to a 4 and delivered @ 1:48p. It was a real rough labor in the sense that my epi didn't work as fast as my contractions were coming, but I felt all 4 hrs of the first one too so I didn't plan on not feeling that last hour anyways. I liked the 2nd one better! I had considerably more energy after him because i got a good nites rest, it all took less then 7 hrs & my blood sugar never plunged like w/#1!!!

Oh, and I will add that the second time, you do know more what to expect. I found it easier in that respect. Because my labour was taking days the second time, my doctor put me in hospital under observation and was deciding whether to induce me by breaking my waters, but in the meantime, I checked into the hospital, was allocated a delivery suite, and then they let me go shopping with my husband for a couple of hours while we waited!!! That really helped!!

The labour was different for my second, but I won't say it was easier. I can't explain. My first labour was short (9 hours, so relatively short). My second was on and off for days, and although not that painful, it was very draining. Once it got serious, it happened much more quickly. So the labours were different.

However, the actual pushing was MUCH easier for the second. With my first it took 1 1/2 hours to push him out, the hardest thing I have ever had to do in my life. With my daughter, 2 pushes and she was out, I was amazed at how easy it was!! Mind you, she was much smaller than my first. But still, I dilated very quickly and she just popped out :)

My second son was bigger than my first, and was much easier. I think it was easier the second time, because i knew that to expect, and was calm about the whole thing. My first was awful, i pushed for almost 3 hours, and tore (i even had an epi, but it had stopped working by the time i was pushing... My second i labored at home in the quiet (it was at night) then went to the hospital at 7am and had him at 12:12. pretty fast. I also only pushed about 4 times, and didn't tear. The worst part about it was i wish i would have labored at home longer, because when you get to the hospital they "say"that you will be able to get up and walk or stand, or whatever, but they kept me in the bed on my back (so they could continue to keep checking me)- and that hurt to have contractions like that. Hope this helps! Good Luck!

For myself, I found that it wasn't easier...it was completely different but still painful. But I wasn't as afraid the 2nd time around! And giving birth is a good pain ;)

For me it was MUCH easier, and my second baby was ALOT bigger too which was weird. My first one was induced 2 weeks early and I was in labor for 24 hrs, I pushed for 2 1/2 hrs straight. My second one I started having contractions at home in the morning and I finally went to the hospital in the afternoon. When I got there I was 6 1/2 cm dilated. The got me in my gown, I signed a bunch of papers, got my epidural and got comfortable. About 30 minutes later I started pushing and had my son, I couldnt believe I was done. After my horrible labor the first time, I was expecting the worst this time too!

Everyone I have talked to has also said their 2nd ones were easier also! Hope this helps! :)

Well, with my first it was hard i'll admit that, but i believe that the contractions were alot worse this time around..with my first son i just had one shot of stadol and i was fine, and he was posterior actually both my kids were posterior, and the contractions with an epidural were alot worse i wasn't at all relaxed this time around. but like the labor i guess is? im not sure i would call them both equal and it would depend on the doctors and nurses delivering too i think. hope this helps!
