Is it harder to travel with two kids?

We buy food when we get there and some small bowls snd the throw away spoons while we are there. If you are flying, I can tell you what to do. If your driving, buy a small thing of dish soap to wash things by hand. Take two bowls if you mix cereal, 2 spoons, 2 plates for her, things like that. Buy some baby food to take with you, but you can buy it while your on the road too! Don't over pack. If you are driving, take a comfy blanket to put in the bottom of the pack and play and a sheet over it. She will get used to it. If it's just you and your two children traveling, she can always sleep in the bed with you or your son! But that's up to you. It's not hard to travel with babies at all! Email me if you want more info or advice on what I do when we fly or drive. My kids are 4 1/2 and 2 1/2. We have driven from TN to CA and back again. I have also flown with them several times.

The play yard we bought was a Graco Newborn Napper Pack n Play. We don't use any of the newborn accessories any more but the basic part of it is still large enough to let my tall 19 month old stretch out and sleep. It's really easy to set up and take down plus reasonably lightweight but not flimsy. The only negative is that I noticed on the last trip the pad at the bottom has started to curve I think it got wet in storage and warped. But we've used it since my son who's 19 months was born and traveled like 10 times so I'd say that's a reasonable life span for a pack n play and would last much longer for people that travel a lot less then us.

We had a portable cot for our son and got him use to it before we went on any trip. We also took stuff he was familiar with his blanket pillow eg and a favourite toy. We also have a portable dvd player which helps if all else fails put their favourite cartoon on. We got our portable cot from Toy Kingdom. Toys r us and a lot of other big stores sell them. They're not exactly soft so i'd suggest a blanket or something in their to make it a bit more comfy. What ever you do experiment before hand with any sleeping arrangements the last thing yo want to be doing is stressing with 2 babies that wont sleep. My youngest also has a little stuffed seahorse that glows for a few minutes and plays calming music she absolutely loves it. My son has a frog that does the same. They helped heaps for us helped them feel at home and relax a little.

My husband wants to bring our son to mammoth cave kentucky he thinks he would like it. Then we go to our cabins in Gatlinburg, Tn :). If anything my mom could watch the baby, its their first grandaughter, lol .

What portable bed do you guys suggest? I want something comfy,lol. Where is a good place to get one? Or just stick with the playpen? Ahhh, so many choices, i donno what to do!

I have this really cute luggage bag , i bring my DD's most favorite toys or a small tote will do and put the toys inside. Snacks I have in the diaper bag sometimes in ziplock baggies(cereal, chex mix) ...when my DD was a baby, i had those munchkin bowls you can buy at the store to store snacks in.

My little girl hates hats too or even if my hair is up in a towel after bath she flips lol! Well would your son sleep on a floor or in bed with you that could save having to bring 2 porta cribs. Maybe get him his own sleeping bag with a character he likes so he wants to sleep in it and he's safe from falling off a bed. When we travel it does take our kids a bit longer to fall asleep not because they are physically uncomfortable I don't think but more it's not what they are used to so it's harder to settle down. You could try a few days before your trip putting your daughter in the play pen for a short time or maybe a nap that way it's not a shock when you expect her to be in it. As far as being picky then traveling sounds like a good thing for her. Let her learn that different is ok and can even be fun. But figure out what she loves so that if she gets overwhelmed you've got it to make her feel safe like my son has a stuffed tigger that goes just about everywhere with us and anytime my son gets a little nervous he's got his tigger to hug.

Im just worried cuz my baby is picky!. If she has a sock off, she hates that. If your wearing a hat she dont like, gotta take it off! Lol my son also does not sleep in his own bed! She does not seem comfortable in her playpen if we bring it for her to sleep in. so what should i do. Shes crawling around like crazy so i cant put her in a bed. Seem frusterating, lol. We have a portable dvd player so thats cool. Keep our son entertained. We go to these cabins in gatlinburg,tn they are awesome! Lol slippery floors though!

It's not any harder to travel with two kids especially if one is a baby. My littlest is great on trips she just sleeps it's the older one that's got to be entertained the whole time. I pack a diaper bag, snack bag, large bottle of water (for formula and to water down juice), and a bag of toys (we include a computer to play movies) for inside the car. Then in the trunk we pack a porta crib. bag of diapers, bag of food, one family clothes bag, and one family toiletry bag. We always get a room with 2 beds one for us and then one we put the baby on surrounded by pillow and the older one in the porta crib. We also always pick a hotel with mini fridges and microwaves makes things so much easier and saves money cause we eat breakfast in the hotel room. The great thing about traveling with kids is that it comes with lots of new things to look at so you don't need all the big toys you have at home your baby will want to look at the new stuff in the room. I over packed the first 2 or 3 trips then realized I didn't use half of what I packed so I stopped wasting the time packing it and if they need something like medicine we go to a store.

Nope not any harder at all. You just take the necessities and have a blast. We have always traveled with all our kids from infancy on.

I don't think it's harder with 2. I pack the nappy bag, fill the bottles with half cold and bring a thermos of hot to fill it up and a 3 compartment formula dispenser for the trip. A bag each with a line of nappies, spew rags, clothes and cot sheets stuffed in, a bag of clean bottles, bottle brush, snacks, pain relief, tin of formula and sippy cups between the kids, nappy bag on the floor, cold bag with ice bricks, water for us, poppas and milk for logan. my hand bag in the front, our bags of clothes each in the boot with the pram and cot. and a backpack of toys like a magna doodle, small cars, rattles for renae and their cuddlies and dummy for renae on the floor in front of the kids on the other side.

Buy a trailer ") we go on holiday all the time and the only disaster we have had is when we left a toy/play pen because the happier the kids are,the more relaxing holiday you will have ") mine are 4 and 15 months x good luck ")
