I live by a beach, I have my whole life. My son who is 3 months has been going for a while now. Bring milk, also bring baby juice. My pediatrician said its okay to give baby juice (like 2 oz at a time). Also an umbrella to shade him and baby sunscreen and baby milk. I also bring a cloth diaper, and have it wet and 'hanging out' in my cooler. Every now and then I will take it out and pat the nape of his neck with it. Sometimes his feet too. It will keep them cool if they're a little hot.

Take the baby. Our kids have been to the lake, hiking, various canyons etc, before they were even a month old.

No sunscreen. Shade, Shade, SHADE

Watch the baby's temperature. They still aren't very good at regulating their temp.

Baby can`t use sunscreen at all, so you have keep her in shade all time. Babies skin is so thin that they can burn easily. Fluids are important. (at least I got such a advices from hospital)

We took our twin boys two times, once when they weren't even three month and once when they were 3 1/2months. Make sure you take an umbrella and they will be fine

Take the baby. I took my oldest to the pool when he was three months old. Even took him in the pool. Just use some common sense, as is shade, plenty of liquids, etc. He's a healthy 28. My youngest was a bit older before I took him in the pool, as he was born in July. But he was out a lot. And he's 22, and healthy.

Im with the majority - If you wanna take bub to the beach then do it. Just make sure that she is well covered/shaded. I would also recommend doing it early morning/late afternoon and avoiding the heat of the day - although that also depends on what temps you have whereever you are :)

sarah sarah, are you realy thinking? it is so many things in this world alone that a young child can catch less lone to carry the baby to the beach. do you know all the things that she might be allegery to? don't expose her to early the the elements. what's the hurry? if you want to go for a big girl relaxation day, leave the baby with a family membe, give her a chance in life. i think the best lil girl relaxation day is to go on the patio, and give her a beautiful messacre, with soft music, or read a child story book, she will listen to everthing you are telling her and doing for her. she will feel that bond. she very well could catch a collick or a fresh cold, you sound like you are very young, you will have time to enjoy her, and see her run and play in the sand, and say look mom, when she's pointing at her diaper, on the ground that she decide to pull off when it is wet lol. give babygirl a chance.

It's safe & fun! Also be aware at sand in any creases. Be sure to rinse her off well!

If you feel comfortable taking her, then I would go. Take a few extra clothes, blankets and such. But MOM knows best, go with your gut. I had no choice but to take my daughter with me everywhere I went.
