For the longest time, my DD has gone to bed about 7-8 o clock every evening for almost 12 months now. Recently, however, she's decided that it's fun to stay up to 9-10 or later in the evening. I've been looking through my books but all seem to say she should be sttn at this age so no luck there. Any thoughts? I'd love to be able to actually do my homework sometime before midnight.

Quoting Patti:

As well, Tamara, it is my experience that the bedtime routine be the same every night. Whatever your routine is try to keep it the same. I sing my 2yr old son the same 3 songs every night and he never gets upset about bedtime because that is what he knows is going to happen after we sing. Good luck. I know that bedtimes are trying at times but stick to your guns and she will readapt and give in I'm sure.

We keep the routine the same every night.  Dinner, bath, feed the fish, nurse to sleep so this newfound desire to stay up later is a bit confounding to say the least. *le sigh*

what is her nap schedule like? You may need to adjust her naps to be shorter, or earlier in the day.

She takes a nap anywhere from 1 - 2 o'clock in the afternoon for about an hour, sometimes 2.  Somedays she's actually gone w/o the nap so I'm wondering if its going to be dropped soon.
