tomorrow is the schedule of my period,, but I had a contact with my husband yesterday, do you think there's a big chance of getting pregnanr because most of the people i ask 5 days before your period is safe. is that true? need a repply thank you.

well if you're trying to get pregnant just use the same calculations to figure when to try again next month if you're not.

oh thank you very much i will just w8 for tomorrow jan. 19 here in the philippines if i have my period and if not i will w8 for 3 days before i take pt test.. hope and pray that i am pregnant:)))

well let me explain, 2 weeks before your period you ovulate. Any time between 5 days before that day and 2 days after is when you can conceive. your egg is viable for 12-24 hours. Sperm can live 3 days ( although i've also heard 5 days)
so if you have your period on the 25th,
2 weeks before is the11th.
5 days before is the 6st.
2 days after is the 13th.
So anytime between the 3rd and the 13th you can get pregnant.(since sperm lives for 3 days, if we calculate 5 days of sperm life the 1st through the 13th are off limits if avoiding pregnancy.)
So if you have a 30 day cycle its 11 days before and 6 days after, if i'm doing the math right.if you have a 27 day cycle,,, you don't have 5 days after your period to be safe.
Honestly if you're concerned about getting pregnant why not get birth control. You can have implants put in that can be taken out when you want. You don't even need to deal with pills and shots.

that's the sad part on my first baby i don't even know when i got pregnant, because all i knew was the safest is 5 days before and after period is safe. so in my case there is a small or even dont have a chance of getting pregnant,, hoow sad for me:(

your profile says you have a 3 year old. How do you have a kid yet do not understand how your own body works? Maybe you and your OB should sit down and have the "talk" already. Kinda sad, sorry but it is. I've already taught my daughter this stuff and she hasn't even had her period yet.

there is a chance it is just a very slim one. Using the ovulation cycle is said to be more effective than pill birth control.
Anytime between the 1st and 8th you ovulated. According to when you said your period was.

sorry i did not know how to compute that,, but do you think there is no chance for me to get pregnant.? how about we had sex last jan. 13, and my period would be on jan, 19,, is there any chance of pregnancy? thank you for your reponse.

you ovulate 2 weeks before your period. Your egg is viable for 12-24 hours. Do the math. Although i have heard of people saying they got pregnant when not in "ovulation."
