Ok, so I have a lot of financial problems. I have been trying to join the Navy since 2005. I had many obstacles to get through. Having my kids, losing 20lbs, and getting a 50% or higher on the ASVAB. I got through everything last year except the ASVAB test. I took it twice last year, and didn't make a high enough score. I kind of gave up on it.
Well.. I lost a job in December, and I have not had any luck finding a job since, so I studied for the ASVAB again and went to my recruiter. I schedualed to take the ASVAB again this Tues (30th). Well I took it and got a 51%!!! I was so proud of myself. Everyone is excited for me. I can get off all government help, etc. which I have been wanting for a very long time. But now I have more obsticles to over come before I leave for boot camp.
My car broke down yesterday. I have to get that fixed, b/c I can't leave my kids and their father without transportation. I have to get the kids birth certificates, and get my 3 year old signed up for pre-school. Get bills taken care of. ANd last but not least get married with the kids father.
Uggh!! So much to do and I have to have it done by the end of the month. I dont have the money for half of it, so I am having to ask my family to help, which I hate to do.
But with all that said. I am worried about being gone so long. I've been away from my oldest before when I was at job corps, but not my other 2. It's been forever since I have been away. I am going to miss them. I wonder if I am going to do it. But I know I have to push myself to do it, b/c it will help my family. I just don't want to leave my babies. =(
Could you join the military for your family even though you will be gone for a long time? Are there any Navy moms out there?
