No matter what type of delivery you have, the pelvic floor muscles get stretched out by that baby and innards resting on them. Kegals tone those muscles so that your pelvic floor doesn't drop. It helps you not leak urine if you sneeze, cough, or laugh too hard both before and after birth occurs.
As for whether or not you do them before, that is up to you. It can help or hinder. If you know where they are, you can consciously relax them during birth. This will reduce odds of tearing.
Definitely do them after, it will help with incontinence. Nice for the sex life too. This applies now in our childbearing years but a;sp well into old age. Really, who wants to be the old lady in the diaper because they couldn't be bothered to do this little thing that can be done anytime and anyplace?

keigal exercises are for more than just vaginal birth, but they do help in the birthing process, it will help balance and strenthen specific muscles used in delivery, They are not nessesary, but it does enhance the birthing muscles. It is a very old excercise used my the western world for birthing and for pleasure as well

Yes I recommend you do it for you & your partner. 1) it helps make sex much better for you & him. 2) it helps with bladder control as those muscles are all sorta related 3) it helps maintain structure in the vaginal area after giving birth. So yes its very important!!!!

Kegal excercises can be very beneficial at all times, its just like any other part of your body excercise keeps us healthy and toned! And there probably isnt any other excercise that we can do at all times no matter where we are without anyone even knowing...just reading your title made me instantly start to do them without even thinking twice about it!
