Ok so heres my story. Back in Feb i had a miscarriage. We have been trying for months to conceive again. My period is a very on the clock period. Until this month. I was 6 days late with my period and took test which came out neg. I started what i belived was my period on the 28th. This period is a lot lighter than any of my normal periods and today on 8/1 it looks to be done. I am waking up feeling sick to my stomach and am more tired than normal. I have twinges of pain everyso often around the nipple area. Could this mean i may still be pregnant but be one of those cases where i still have periods or am i just paranoid. Any advice or similar cases and if so what was your results?

The only way to know for sure, is to take another test. If it comes in negative again, you'll know that you had an iregular period, which should be looked into further. There maybe some hidden cause. If it comes back postive, CONGRATS!

From my experience, if your period is regular as rain and becomes abnormal, you should check it out. Sounds to me that you are either pregnant or your body thinks it is. If you miscarried and it was confirmed one of 3 things could be happening, 1. you could have been carying twins and lost one--- highly unlikely with negative test, 2. your hormones are a little outa whack from the miscarriage and you may have slight infection--- possible or 3. you are pregnant again and the test was too early to pick up hormone levels. Recomendation... see a doctor to make sure everything is ok, & ask to do blood test to confirm pregnant or not. For me all these signs were apparent with all 6 of my pregnancies, but with 2 over the counter tests did not pick them up. 1 was miscarriage, 1 was live birth, both were tested within 4 weeks of conception, all 4 others showed up at 6 -8 weeks pregnant. Doctors will tell you most women do not know thier pregnant untill around 8 weeks when hormone level start to elevate. For 2 of my 4 live births (first and hopefully the last) I knew within 2 weeks of conception and had to wait for confirmation. hope this helps.:)

Sorry to hear of the Miscarriage..I've had 3 and they are never easy..You maybe stressing your body out..you need to relax and take it slow a while..sometimes your other half too can be stressed out for you..Not healthy for you both..
you may still feel your breast twinge because you still ovulate,.Start slowly and naturally..don't consume yrself with pressure..It will workout.

You could be pregnant and you can't always trust a home pregnancy test. Just go to your doctor to find out for sure. Usually the nipple thing happens later in the pregnancy.

i think you take a test after a few weeks. it would be safe to eat healthy and to start taking those prenatal vitamins. I went through the same thing with my son. i had spotting so i took a test. it came out positive, then when i tested again after a month only to have a negative 3x! but after my period didn't come for 4months (i have extremely irregular periods), i took a test and it was positive!

however, since i tested positive the 1st time, i started eating healthy and excercising. so when i found out it was for real, i wasn't scared that i ingested anything harmful for my baby.

Some women still have what they think is a period for the first few months. With my son I didn't stop until I was already three months and the first test I took said no and I believed it. So jsut take care and wait a few weeks to take another test.

I'm betting you are pregnant. I had the same kind of slight "period" when I was first pregnant with all 4 of my kids. Along with the other symptoms it's very likely.

no you cant be pregnant again it is just your body trying to get rid of the pregnancy hormones. i remember the symptoms like it was yesterday from my miscarriage. give your body time to heal properly before you try to get pregnant again right away follow your doctors orders and trust me if you dont worry yourself about anything and the way you feel, you will end up pregnant again...that is if your not trying to plan for this next child.

Go see your doctor. The Best test is blood work... You dont want to take any chances of miscarrying again. If you are pregnant. good luck and god bless.

Oh Yea. stop trying. The harder you try the harder it is to get pregnant. Let it happen And enjoy the sex.

Playing the guessing game usually cause us a lot of undue stress and could very well result in more medical problems. Go to the doctor and let him/her find out what the case is. Your body may be the type to take a while to adjust to the loss of a baby. Your body may be screaming for medical attention. You may be pregnant. All of these are MAYBEs. Go to the doctor and find out what you should be doing to take care of yourself. If you are pregnant you want to be taking the necessary precautions to make sure that you have a healthy pregnancy and baby. If you are not pregnant, the issues that occurring may hinder you from getting pregnant again. Go to the doctor!!!!!! I am praying for your health and your family.

Hi, there are some cases who still getting pregnant at the first stage of pregnant. anyway try to check it again or see the doctor.
To avoid miscarriage, in Malaysia we always not been adviced to eat pineapple or sugar cane as its can cause miscarriage. But there still no scientific proof on it and the doctors always advice to eat those food for vitamin c.

I know that your body can think you are pregnant for 6 weeks after miscarriage, however we are now months away. I would contact your doctor, you might have a negative urine test but blood work might be showing differently.

Apparently you can have an implantation bleed, if youy're getting signs of pregnancy then it's worth doing a test again, maybe you tested too early and that's why it was negative Good luck with it al. Try not to stress about it (easier said than done, I know), but stress makes it all more difficult!

With my first, I thought I was pregnant a month before I really was. I had a lot of symptoms and had very light bleeding for a day or two. Took 2 tests that said neg, so we ignored it and kept trying and ended up pregnant the next month. I've had a couple of my friends that have also had similar experiences..

Go ahead and take another pregnancy test. It is possible that you are wanting to be pregrant so bad that your body is kicking into pregrancy mode even if you are not pregrant. It's been known to happen more often than one would think. Not to get your hopes up, I knew a woman once who was 7 months pregnant and was still testing negative. The best thing is likely to consult your doctor. Good luck to you.

I had a light period when I got pregnant w/ my 1st child. I figured it was just a weird period because my body was used to being on birth control. My husband was fighting forest fires, when he called I told him we weren't pregnant. He came home a couple weeks later. 3 days after he got back, and we were trying again, I was feeling nauseous. I was surprised that I could be feeling sick within days of conception. When we went in for the 2mo. apptmt/ ultrasound they informed me that I was 3mo. along. That was pretty exciting. Had a healthy pregnancy and we love our daughter (and now recently our new baby boy).

I put off taking the pregnancy test until 1 mo. after that last "period" just because I didn't want to take it early and waste another test. By the time I finally took it I knew I was pregnant by then but my husband insisted that I prove it..

Jackie I agree with a lot of these women. I found out from the doctor with both my kids, even after a week of being late, the test said no. I also agree that it sounds positive, but it could be stress related too. It's a 30 minute trip to find out, even less if they just order the lab test and you do not see the dr. Stress can do serious havic to your cycle!!! Go check it out! And relax and have fun I know this is not easy! ;o)

It could be implantation bleeding. As long as you are not bleeding heavily and cramping you may be (and stay) pregnant.

Hi Jackie, definitely go to the doctor and have them run a pregnancy test. It sounds like you may be pregnant. I don't want to scare you but last year, I had the same symptoms and same results with the at-home test. I had the same period and had spotting in between what I thought were my periods. We found out that I had a tubal pregnancy and had to have emergency surgery. It's best to have it checked out as soon as possible especially if this is happening as it can be fatal. I wish the best for you!

First off, home pregnancy tests are not always right. Second, if you are stressed out, it will throw your periods off. Schedule and appointment with your OB/GYN and try not to stress out.

I would check with your doctor. I personally don't trust the at home test...i have 2 children and found out fairly early with both, 6 & 7 1/2 weeks..had taken at home tests with both and never got a positive. I even took an at home after finding out from my dr. and it still came back neg. Good Luck & Best Wishes

Hi Jackie - I am sorry you went through a miscarriage. As if it isn't tough enough mentally, it is very tough physically. I too had a miscarriage and it took a while for the rest of my body to "realize" I was no longer pregnant. My breast were sensitive and was experiencing pregnant-like symptoms for what appeared to be a few months after the miscarriage. Honestly, if you have any concern, do not write-it-off as paranoia, go see your doctor; it never hurts and worth the piece of mind.

Hi Jackie. Sorry you're still not feeling well. You should pay your doctor a visit and be examined. Did you have a D & C after your miscarriage in February? If not, you may need one.
You'll want to be sure everything is in "working order" so you can try again.

Best of luck to you.

Debbie

My system completely changed after my miscarriage and I was absolutely convinced I was miscarrying every month to the point my doctor had me come in to check my blood levels for pregnancy hormones to see if I was. With the miscarriage (five weeks in) it was barely registering on a stick but did on blood tests. I had horrendous back pains (like with the miscarriage) I had never had before. I finally got pregnant again nine months later, found out before my missed period when I went in for a bladder infection, they immediately checked for a heartbeat vaginally and found one and the pregnancy held. Have never had those back pains since either but I know the miscarriage affected my system for quite awhile.

First - sorry for your loss. 2nd - i had a miscarriage in Feb as well and my period has never been the same since. I find that i have super preg/af symptoms ( i am wishing they were not so similiar!) every month. I say just take another test and see but more than likely i would think that it is just a case of you being super aware of your body. I am hoping you get your happy and healthy 9 months soon.

Hey, Jackie! I'm a fourth year acupuncture student. In our biomedicine and A&P classes, we learned that sometimes you'll have what seems like a light period when you first become pregnant. This is usually caused by the small amount of blood that is released as the fertilized egg implants itself into the lining of your uterine wall. I don't have any personal experience with miscarriage or with spotting during pregnancy, so I can't speak to that, but I would definitely get in to see your OBGYN or midwife right away to help them confirm for you what is going on.

By the way, I want to put in a plug for acupuncture and Chinese medicine with respect to helping with conception and helping the body heal following a miscarriage. I can't tell you how many people I know who have been helped by this wonderful medicine that has been in practice for over 5,000 years. There's nothing "voodoo" about it, I can assure you. It's based entirely on Einsteinian physics. Go to www.acufinder.com to find a licensed acupuncturist in your area.

Best of luck to you!

Home tests are NOT 100% accurate and do NOT always work. I don't know how many people I have known over the years that had negative tests and were pregnant or had positive tests and were not. If you are not comfortable with the home test results see your doctor IMMEDIATELY!! Our doctor seems to be booking into next month so if your doctor is the same case go to Emerge or a walk-in clinic asap!! There is also something called psudo-pregnancy where a woman can WANT to have a baby so badly that their body gives signs and symptoms of a pregnancy, even having a growing tummy!! Nothing there though!! So with the miscarriage, it is hard to tell. I am so very sorry to hear about your miscarriage. :( But I would get in to a doctor to get properly tested and checked-out asap!! If you ARE pregnant then you need to get on the proper diet, proper vitamins, etc. I wish you all the best!! Goodluck!! If you aren't pregnant then just give it time. It will happen for you. :)

It is possible that you could be pregnant but it is also possible that the hormones in your body are working over time too. There are instances as well where women want to be pregnant so bad that they will show signs and symptoms of it and still not be. My mother in law had her period when she was pregnant with both of her girls so I would suggest going in to see your doc and having a blood test done. If you are shedding any type of blood you will have a false pregnancy test no matter what. Go in tell the doc what is going on, get the blood test. It could be a pregnancy and it could be something else as well. Being you had a miscarriage it is a top priority for you to get in to the doctor as soon as you suspect that you are pregnant.

It sunds as though you may have taken your first pregnancy a litte early... sometimes it takes a little longer for the hormones to show up strong enough in your urine to give a positive result. Out of five pregnancies, I had two that resembled what you re describing exactly... late periods, then a few light periods... all the while I was pregnant! Take another test - better yet, get a blood test done - if you have a question, it is always prudent to go ahead and test - even when you have had a negative recently- just make sure you test first thing in the am- that is when your urine hormone levels are at the highest! I sure hope congratulations are in order! :)

I would recommend taking another test, though it might still say negative. My sister now has a 1-year-old. She NEVER had a positive at-home-test with her baby. She ended up going to her Ob/gyn to get a bloodtest done to confirm. Trust your body! I don't think you are being parnoid, just hopeful. :)
