Anyone's DD have this?
Did it go away on its own?
did you use cream, or have it seperated?
Any stories are welcome
Thanks

Good luck!!
My doctor says its very common.
I have been using the cream for only a few days now and can already see that is opening a bit so hopfully it wont be a long road :)

My youngest had this. We found it when she was 6 months old. I took her to the doc immediately and used the Premarin cream (estrogen cream). Within a week it was open and it hasn't closed up again. I put vasaline on the opening once a month (as the doc recommended) and it's fine. She's 17 months old now.

It did take years to have full improvement...just be patient and don't let anyone push you into doing something you may regret. If you have any questions that I can ask my sister I certainly will do that! It is apparently a very common thing.

We had this on one of our girls. We used the cream, and it took a while but did eventually resolve with no problems.

Is this where the vagina is sealed off? If it is, my sisters daughter had that. They were offered the surgery, and she declined it....was only going to use it as a last resort..medical emergency kind of thing. She used the creams, and the Dr gave them stretches. She is a normal happy healthy 6 year old now. It was alot of work though.

We used the cream for about 6 days and it opened back up, now we just put a little vasaline on every other diaper change :)

Hey Morgan, just checking on how your little girl is doing? Has the cream been helping? I had my DD checked out, and she does not have it. Let me know how things are going! I have been thinking about you lately!

My 4 1/2 month old daughter was just diagnosed with a mild case this week at a checkup. Our pediatrician recommends applying a 1-to-1 ratio mix of Aquaphor and Maalox (and I'm wondering if A & D ointment and generic milk of magnesia would do the trick, too). He's said nothing of surgical options or needing estrogen creams so far, which I'm grateful for, so I'll see how this cream goes and just apply some "perineal stretches" when putting it on. I'll try to remember to post in the future as to whether this concoction works. Good luck to everyone else! :-)

...Actually...I looked very closely today....looks like my daughter is suffering the same thing. She is only 3 months. Gonna take her to the Dr. asap and make sure my eyes are not playing tricks on me. Wish me luck!

My doc never even suggested surgery. I had read that it is needed sometimes, but the doc said we caught it early enough. I guess surgery is an option if it's not caught until later in life....

My sister was also very worried, and wondered the entire time if she should just resort to surgery. Now she is extremely pleased she stuck to her guns. It took a very long time for it to resolve...but she was extremely dilligeant about making sure to do the streches...everyday..all the time!

I've also heard of the cream working really well. I hope everything goes well for your DD! Good luck!

Yes Marina thats what it is,
I had never heard of it untill now.
so she dident ever have to have the surgery, it just healed with the creams and stretches?
My daughter has it but the doctor said its not totally sealed off, that we caught it soon enough that he thinks the cream should work.
but I am still a little worried.
