Okay ladies, I'm looking for some advice. I have a soon to be 3 year old daughter and her father has never really been in her life. He has only seen her 3 times in her whole life and the last time was over a year ago. He is ordered to pay child support but has never full kept on track, it's basicly a hit and miss here and there kind of thing. He only pays it when he's tired of being broke and goes and finds another job, then he'll quit when he gets aggravated becasue the state ganishes his wages. Anywho, he recently contacted me wanting to sign his right over but I don't have the money to hire a lawyer. I'm just looking for options on either how to get him to pay his child support or to just go ahead and let him sign his rights over. My daughter has no idea who he is because he's never been there. I'm just looking for some suggestions and any help, Thanks in advance.

It definatly is not worth the aggravation that is why I am okay with him signing his rights over. She doesn't even know who he is. The thing is, he wont sign them over unless someone is willing to adopt her. Becasuse he doesn't want to pay child support on her and not have any rights to her. I don't think that my boyfriend can adopt her without us being married and we have talked about him adopting her but that it was going to be his decision and not something forced on him. Is there any way that her biological father can sign his rights over and just not have to pay child support on her?

If he's not paying support and has only seen her 3 times and WANTS to sign his rights over, let him. He sounds useless, no offense. But it's not worth the aggravation IMO.
