i myself went for older turn of the century names you don't see often. if you like the older names they're easy to look up, and many are oh so pretty. i myself went with Violet but there are sooo many more nice ones.

I think the first 3 names are great for a girl. Not so sure about Griffon. 1) I would prefer to see it used for a boy, and 2) my cousin has a dog called Griff, short for Griffendor (I apologise to any Harry Potter fans if I've misspelled it)

My youngest is Daria and most people have never heard it outside of the TV program. I know a Dzintra, she doesn't mind it pronounced Zin-tra but explained you're supposed to sort of roll the D-Z sound together. I also know a H'lena - her mum didn't want her nicknamed Hell so got rid of the E sound in the pronounciation. Ngaire (or Nyree) is pretty, though common in New Zealand. Ruby and Charlotte are way popular here (Australia) ATM

How about Vannesia? You can spell it Vanezia. That is my oldest's first name and I have not heard of anyone else with that name.

My name, Jennifer, was super overpopular when I was born, so I wanted something not common but pretty for my girls. My older daughter is Johanna (Joe - HA - na) and my younger one is Macia (May-Sea-AH).

Johanna came from combining my husband's name John with my favorite (but too common) girls' name Hanna. Macia we saw on another girls' church dedication, but didn't know how to pronounce it, so we chose a pronunciation. (I think we got it wrong and I'm glad - makes it more unique). Good luck!!

I was going to name my daughter Monroe Grace, but since she's my last, and only girl, I named her (partially) after me

My daughter is named Harmony :) And my other daughter is Regan.

My SIL suggested the name Gracelynn the other day, and I think it is pretty and a bit unusual!

Hi Cayla, my name is Penelope, I named my liitle girl Jemmison Elita Faye. I also like the unusual names of Jassyn, Jessimaye, Jamelia and Jaxintah. As you can see i like J names. I loved the name Riley but i spell it , Rhyli to be different. Riga , Rykiah, Willow, Ocean, Oakley , Kiara, Kianah and Starr are a few others i like too. Good luck in the choosing as there are sooo many beautiful and unusal names out there.

I love Griffon for a girl!! I named my daughter Ceridwen (Keh-rid-wen), I also searched and searched for a unique name, it is so hard to be original now without getting too carried away (ie. apple).

my second child which is a boy, is named Elliott, and if it would have been a girl it still would be Elliott. i think its such a cool name for a girl. my first is named elizabeth adelaide. Elizabeth is such a strong name, they are both queens names, and adelaide is also the capital of australia i think...i also like the name Lyra
