We named our girl Isis Rose - Isis is the Egyptian goddess of Birth and Fertility.  She gets nicknamed "Icey" "Ice" - everyone comments on what a pretty name it is.  And it is certainly unique - I've never come across any others so far!! Best of luck with the name game!!

My daughter is Imogen Evangeline I often call her Imi-eve. Also like Romilly (could spell it Romillie). I have a friend called Elissa (e-liss-a). Another few I have heard that I think are unusual are Tilda, Blue, Pertunia, Mercy. Good luck and let us know what you choose.

I have two boys, so I'm not superb with the girl names but I just wanted to offer a piece of advice... My sons names are Tiergan and Callum and folks ALWAYS pronounce them wrong. Drives me absolutely crazy and annoys them as well. I've noticed some very "unique" names and all I'd like to say is in your quest for a unique name, remember your kid is going to have to forever say, 'No... that's (example) Tear-gen... no no.. it's spelled T-I-E-R-G-A-N.' Try not to make it too annoying for them or too exhausting for everyone else to figure out.

That said, I had planned two girl names: Lucy and Vi. Not necessarily "unique" but they were older family names that I loved.

Look for names in other languages

my daughters name is Luna (meaning moon) Rain

I also like Nevaeh (Heaven backwards)

I have had people turn one of their families names backwards to make up a new name as well. Other unusually names that I have seen are

Stenna, Loria, Dusty, Lorrainia, Eva, and Anya

Another thing is don't forget to always look twards nature so many names can be taken from them.

Willow, Daisy, Rose, Camellia, Breeze, Ember, Winter, Violet, Sky, Sieanna, Amythist

My nieces are Tanaya, Ayla-Shannyn and Kyara. (Key-ara). If I'd had a daughter she would have been Madelin Davidson. Davidson being a middle name not last, coming from scottish clan heritage.

my second child which is a boy, is named Elliott, and if it would have been a girl it still would be Elliott. i think its such a cool name for a girl. my first is named elizabeth adelaide. Elizabeth is such a strong name, they are both queens names, and adelaide is also the capital of australia i think...i also like the name Lyra

Just to correct you Adelaide is the capital of South Australia which is a state in Australia, the capital of Australia is Canberra.
