Hello all moms ! today my 8 years had a baby side tooth removed beacuse of the gum infection, and his baby front teeths had removed since he was 3 years old. I' m so worry that I didn't see his adult front teeth have not come out. Is this normal for an 8 years old boy ? Should I need second opinion from another dentist ? or should I wait ?

If you mean that his upper anterior teeth have not come in and the baby teeth have been gone since he was three they maybe having trouble breaking through. You should ask that they do an x-ray to make sure they are present, but sometimes they just need more time and sometimes they need help. I have worked on two cases where the teeth were removed early and the adult ones weren't coming through so the Dr. made an incision in the tissue ( done with topical anesthesia) to help them come in. I am a dental hygienist. If you don't feel they are addressing your concerns where you are going you can always get a second opinion.

Baby teeth are pulled if there is any issue that cannot be fixed. Also 8 year old can still have a mouthful of baby teeth. They come out when they are ready not when we say they should. I am a dental asst and have seen even adults with baby teeth.
Also my son lost teeth, and a year later we still would have a tooth in its place...every mouth is different.
As for the 2nd opinion, always get one if you think you need it.
And make sure he is brushing and flossing daily. You only floss the teeth you want to keep!!!!!

He had 2 bottom adult teeth but not the upper one. Thanks to all moms for your opinion.

my 13 year old daughter still has a few baby teeth.every child is different.An x-ray of his mouth should give you a better idea of what' going on

I would be prone to getting a secon opinion. My son is 6, lost his first tooth a couple of months ago and already has an adult tooth growing in its place. His second tooth is loose, and has an adult tooth growing in behind it. 8 seems like he should have some teeth coming in.

you should have the moth exrayed to see if any tooth is there. , at his age all baby teeth should be gone

Has your dentist done X-rays? That will show if the adult teeth are ready to come down or if they are missing. My son had one front tooth come down on its own but because of crowding, he had to have a baby tooth pulled for the other adult tooth to drop.

I would get a second opinion. Always go with that mommy gut feeling. My eight year old started getting his adult teeth at 5.5 years old. He now has 8 new teeth not including molars.
