Loves his baths but hates getting dressed

My son Seth has just turned 4 months and ever since he was born he has screamed the house down every time he gets out of the bath.

I let him lie on a towel on the bathroom floor with no clothes on for a few mins before his bath and he absolutely loves his baths and showers with dad.

He is fine with me drying him off but as soon as the nappy goes on he starts screaming. Is there anything I can do to get him out of this or will I just have to wait until he grows out of this screaming?

A suggestion is to give him a "baby massage" with a little bit of baby oil. This is also calming and can help bring up burbs. Keep the room warm and let him have some nappy off time just make sure you have plenty of Nappies to catch the wee as little boys can spray it a long way.

Another thought, get him ready for the bath and when you are done with the bath, put a diaper and bib on him then give him the baby food he likes. Wipe him down when he's done, then dress him. If he seems to like his clothes off, this might be a good way to get a routine down with him for bed time. Good luck!

Thanks for your help. I do give him baby food before his baths but I might try the rice cereal. He loves his rice cereal in the morning and I think that it prob fills him up a lot more. He also loves bright shows on tv so I will try letting him watch the tv for a bit before I dress him along with the reading that another lady just mentioned.

Ok thanks. I will try reading a bright book to him after I have put his nappy on to settle him before I dress him. I think he is a bit young yet to choose his own clothes at 4 months but will use that when he gets a lil older.

Try a routine with him, like letting Seth pick out the close he’ll put on even if they’re not nigh-night close. Or put diaper/underwear on and then read to him, maybe a book about getting ready for bed, then try putting on the clothes. It’s an extra 15mins or so but it might just work.

All of my kids went thru that phase! I In the summer months I washed them down slapped on a diaper and tuened on the Tv (Elmo, Backyardagains,Obi) things with a lot of color they seemed to calm down and ease to sleep while they were sleep I slipped on a onsie (my kids deep sleep) Also try using diff types of body wash johnson night time or cucumber melon it seems to relax them. In winter te night time and the long john pj's he'll prob cry his self to sleep warm bottle small amount of rice or oatmeal cereal he will sleep better if U breastfeed as funny as it sounds eat some cereal to engorge and feed he will sleep well. I use the same methods except the breastfeeding lol and my kids go right to sleep my oldest is 4
